I was hoping for a continuation of the story with the same actors only 20+ years after the "invasion".
I LOVED the original. I will still watch it but I would have very much have liked to see the continuation.

When the series ended, we saw elizabeth the star child all dressed up and ready to meet the elusive "leader" , she gets into the ship and.....it ended. NOTHING after that. What happens to Diana? the resistance? Donovan and his visitor loving son? Does willie go on to teach english?

If this new series or movie isnt a continuation i am going to scream.

Wow this does sound exactly like the original miniseries -- so I guess it's definitely remake. I think the only difference is the Donavan starts out in Africa, rather than Central America like he did in the original.

If you're really a fan geek, you should check out V: The Second Generation - a novelized sequel to the first miniseries that ignores the second miniseries (V: The Final Battle) and the sucky weekly TV series. It's horribly written trash, but faithful to the original and lots of fun -- a great beach read.

I clicked on the link to the summary of this "new" V and it is the same story as the original four-hour V. Mike Donovan is even described as a 35-year-old cameraman, something Marc Singer definitely is not!!! Doesn't sound like a continuation, just another reboot.

Was anybody else thinking this post was related to a new V for Vendetta movie? I don't know how that would fit on this blog, but still.

Oh, did I love V. I remember a scene where kids were playing with V action figures, and thought, where can I get those? I still remember the very first time a lizard ate a critter. I was so scared! I really hope it is good; but I'll see it anyway. Yippee!

I quit the Boy Scouts because the meetings were at the same time as V the series. How different my life might be had the DVR been invented 20 years earlier. (actually I think we got a VCR shortly after but still)

Depends on how well made the movie is... which also depends alot on the budget of the film.... If I didn't go to the theatre.. I'd probably watch it on Cable/DVD. I agree with Danielle.. I'd be more willing to watch it on TV.

Colby.... as for it being different.. it doesn't necessarily need to be different.. many movies are remakes and are basically the same.... new actors..new special effects.. The important thing here is that there is a whole new audience...from the 1980's to 2010's... alot of reproduction has taken place during that time. If it is made right... they could pull in a new croud... and alot of us who remember it.

I would SO be first in line for this. I loved the 'V' movies (the TV series sucked rocks) and it's also engrained in my brain.

Hopefully they could find a better actor for the hero role than Marc "Beastmaster" Singer.
