What to Watch Tuesday, Aug. 12

by Kim Potts, posted Aug 12th 2008 5:55AM
'Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood'
(10PM, Oxygen) 3rd season finale
She's moved back to her 'hood -- both on this show and on the upcoming CW remake of 'Beverly Hills 90210.'

Now, Tori Spelling and hubby Dean McDermott close the 'Home Sweet Hollywood' season by bringing baby daughter Stella home from the hospital to meet brother Liam, and officially christening their new abode with a housewarming party.

No worries that this is the end for Oxygen's highest-rated series, however; though Tori is headed back to '90210' and is penning 'Mommywood,' a book on mommyhood, it's likely that Donna Martin graduates to another season of 'Tori & Dean,' too.

'Samantha Who?'

(9PM, ABC)
It's the comedy that led to a Golden Globe, SAG and now an Emmy nomination for star Christina Applegate, and ABC is unspooling a double serving of episodes each Tuesday, beginning with the series pilot tonight.

'Wipeout'
(8PM, ABC)
Johns Henson and Anderson present the first "Wipey Awards," including nods to the Best Wipeout and the Best Big Balls Technique. Oh, the Big Balls just never get old.

'Food Detectives'
(9PM, Food Network)
Last week it was double dipping, this week, Ted investigates another 'Seinfeld'-related food myth: Could a poppy seed bagel really have made Elaine fail a drug test?

'Smash Labs'
(10PM, Discovery)
If, like Sammy Hagar, you can't drive 55, the team's got nothing for you. But if you can obey that speed limit, you might benefit from the latest 'Smash Lab' creation: an aluminum foam that will allow a car to survive a 55 MPH crash.

'Secret Lives of Women'
(10PM, WE)
Women who each dropped more than 100 pounds discuss the before, during and aftermath of their weight loss battles.

What's on tomorrow: Brooke Shields on 'Project Runway,' 'Making the Band 4' premiere
