More money for Matthew Fox

by Brad Trechak, posted Aug 15th 2008 10:23AM
Matthew FoxWe mentioned that Matthew Fox (along with Evangeline Lilly) was in negotiations for a higher salary. Well, it looks like he got it. Fox will now be earning about $225,000 per episode of Lost, as opposed to the approximately $150,000 per episode he was making before.

I guess Jack Shepard will be with us through the rest of the season (and likely the rest of the series). If the character were more disposable, it's likely he would have gone the way of other now-dead Lost characters such as Charlie.

The article also states that he's now making as much as each of the cast members of ABC's other hit Desperate Housewives. I didn't know the wives of Wisteria Lane made so much. I thought Lost was a more popular show than Desperate Housewives. In that regard, I can understand why Fox would want to renegotiate his contract.

The rest of the Lost core cast is in the process of renegotiating their deals. Once that is done, I guess we'll know better who is staying and who will meet some sort of grizzly fate.

Damn. It's so unfair. You get $150.000 for just having fun with pals on a tropical island and then you ask for a raise?! Kill me. I mean - when you earn so freakin' much - what's the difference?!

So he'll make more in one season off a few episodes than the horrible speed racer movie made at the box office?

Well may be if were lucky the pay raise is so Fox can be killed off some time soon. Every one knows that people aren't a fan of the Jack character and ones people like get killed off. So may be just may be Jack can go soon. Yet with the flash forwards it looks unlikely. Heck if Desmond and Penny don't make a showing this Season I will be sick. Plus the people working at ABC and on Lost could kill off Kate too and there would be no loss. But I guess that won't happen either.

Oh, not to complain... I actually liked the post. I just want to save potential fans from that big of a major hit.

It didn't bother me, but given the number of people who start Lost between seasons every year, I recommend not keeping that comment about a certain horrible death before the jump... or in the post at all.

I think you mean "grisly" fate. Although on a tropical island with polar bears, a grizzly isn't too farfetched :-)
