Bonnie Hunt goes to daytime TV

bonnie huntAnother daytime talk show? Apparently, but this one could have some promise. Why? It's got Bonnie Hunt.

The Bonnie Hunt Show will be unscripted and low-key with a lot of audience interaction. The producers who back Ellen's and Tyra Banks's talk shows are behind Hunt, so shouldn't we be too?

My fondest memories of Hunt as an actress are not of TV (although her sitcom, Life with Bonnie, was pretty funny, just not my bag), but rather her roles in Jumanji and Jerry McGuire. I feel that those characters allowed Hunt to showcase her dry wit balanced with her gentle nature the best. But I do agree with the producers: Hunt's got personality.

Back to the unscripted: If Hunt's show remains unscripted and unpredictable, my guess is that they'll have a hit. Do you have any predictions as to whether or not Ms. Hunt can weather the daytime talk show competition?

Love Bonnie Hunt. Mentioning her in the same breath as Tyra "I'm the stupidest human on earth" Banks is sacrilege.

Why Bonnie Hunt does not have a bigger career I'll never understand. She's a rare breed, smart, funny and damn sexy for a lady over 40.

I wish her all the luck in the world - daytime talk shows are a tough business.

I also loved her appearances on Letterman. She has a very funny dry wit. I think Worldwide Pants had something to do with her last show.

I am a huge fan of Bonnie Hunt. She is such an underused and undervalued entertainer. I simply don't watch daytime TV, but I may have to DVR the shows to see what their like. I wish someone would get her back on prime time where she belongs.

I have enjoyed everything Bonnie has been in - even her sitcoms. Anyone who can make Letterman seem almost tolerable has something going for her. I'll definitely be watching.

I love Bonnie Hunt! The best parts of her last sitcom were the "unscripted" segments on her talk show. I look forward to any appearance she makes on Letterman's show, so her new show will be a treat! I'm setting the DVR now!!!

I'm not home to watch daytime TV, but you can bet I'd rather watch Bonnie than anyone else out there right now. I'll probably DVR a few of her first episodes to see how she does -- and maybe future ones too, depending on her guests.

Good luck, Bonnie!
