Naked Cowboy snags a reality show

Naked cowboyIf you've ever been to New York City, chances are you've found yourself in the neon Disneyland of Times Square. If you've ever been to Times Square, then you've almost definitely run into The Naked Cowboy. The Naked Cowboy is neither naked, nor a cowboy. Rather, he is a dude who hangs out in the middle of Times Square in a pair of tighty-whities and charges tourists for pictures as he bangs away on an acoustic guitar. He's been doing this for years in all kinds of weather, so for his trouble, he's getting his own reality show.

And you went to law school, loser.

The Cowboy's show, brought to us by the producers of the upcoming Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling, is described as basically an American Idol for street performers. However, prospective contestants needn't start on the song and dance lessons: this is purely style over substance.

Much like The Cowboy's act doesn't involve talent, he's not really looking for that in his contestants. Instead he says, "I'm looking for character more than anything. You could be the greatest musician in the world, but if you stand in jeans and a T-shirt next to me, no one will notice you." So I guess his advice is to ... wear a thong? I don't really know.

Actually, that doesn't even guarantee success in his cut-throat world of street performing. I used to have a job that put me out in Times Square a lot, so I would run into this guy pretty often (he's kind of a jerk, by the way). At one point, a Naked Cowgirl came along. She wore a teeny-tiny red spandex skirt and blue sequined pasties. She seemed sad and hungry and he didn't like the competition, so she only lasted about a week. Perhaps the folks on his show will fair better.

I just saw the Naked Cowboy in Times Square a few weeks ago and had no desire to get near him. He reeked "Center for Disease Control" all over him. He is NASTY!

idiots that sabout all i can say. He's not too stupid he's making lots of dough, but the t.v. producers are getting ridiculous i'm so sick of reality. shows. just a bunch of put up crap. and like i really wanna see this crap, i go watch old black and white movies to get away from this stinking world of reality, and people actually watch this crap , you would think they had nothing better to do than, watch some idiots make money. and the public is making it all happen by giving these shows good ratings. This country is going to hell in a hand basket.literally ! i say of they cant make good t.v. no more? stop charging a months wages to watch cable, were apying for junk, and i aint taking it no more, if it goes up next month my cable is history. right along with the rest of these idiots .get a life america.no wonder kids play games all the time theres nothing to watch on t.v. no more! so like my comments or not, you all know it's the truth.

he actually went on some judge show (judge judy? i forget) suing his wife over some inane thing, like he had signed a contract with her promising not to be the naked cowboy when they go to parties, and had gone back on it?? the whole thing obviously was a publicity stunt, although he was very, very, very obsessive about his 'naked cowboy' persona. very egomanical...i wouldn't want to be his kids, that's for sure...

More reasons why he's a tool and a douchebag.

Sounds like his business plan is working out. Which, I believe, includes total world domination. I looked up his site a few years ago after encountering him in NYC and taking pictures of him with my BFF (during which he placed her hand on his butt). And she dropped some money in the slot in his guitar - basically a receptacle for cash and not an actual musical instrument. He WAS surrounded by a lot of young Asian girl tourists who were giggling an awful lot. The dude is very driven. He did (don't know if he still does this) go out to Times Square in his tightie whities in many a snow storm. Not saying that still doesn't make him a tool or a douchebag but he definitely has more money than me.

He's a tool. But he's the luckiest tool in the world. First he gets 4million dollars from suing M&M's for making a commercial with his image, now he's getting a TV show.

Both of those wouldn't have been worth my pride to do what he does.

That guy has no real character. He's just an ass hanging around in his underwear in public annoying people.

This show saddens me.
