I think that if they make a Doctor Who movie they should bring back Christopher Eccleston and Rose together. He was such a BRILLIANT Doctor. I think that would definetly be better in my opinion.

All Steven Moffat said was that he wasn't against a movie being made. Since a movie could take 6 - 10 months to film and the series 9 - 10 months there would be quite a logistics problem in using the same Doctor surely?!? Sounds like the UK press desperate to find column inches to me. One paper today reported David Tennant is definately leaving before series 5...let's see what the rest of the press print tomorrow.

Hopefully with a movie budget it will have better effects than the show (I still like the show anyway).

Leaves a good question on whether or not it'd have *that* big of a following in the US, though.

A Time War movie would be great -- but probably wouldn't fly, only because it would require some degree of knowledge of the existing series. If we've learned anything from Hollywood, they're all about getting in as many people into the theatre as possible -- even if that means appealing more to those unfamiliar with the franchise than the fan base.

A fresh start storyline will give more people a chance to meet the mysterious time lord, get to know who he is and why he does what he does.

The purists will hate it of course -- but like I said, the movie moguls aren't usually concerned about them.

That all said, I do wish that someday, somehow we get the story of the Time War -- whether in graphic novel (ala Buffy Season 8), or via flashbacks as told by the Doctor. But it would HAVE to involved McGann!
