What to Watch Wednesday, Aug. 27

by Kim Potts, posted Aug 27th 2008 5:00AM
'Shear Genius'
(10PM, Bravo) 2nd season finale
Sally Hershberger -- she of the $800 haircuts -- is the guest judge as the final three contenders must style the locks of four different clients to win the $100,000 prize.

Oh wait, not only do Charlie, Dee and Nicole have to style four clients ... they also have to do it in a mere three hours, which anyone who's ever sat around a salon with little pieces of foil wrapped around their head knows is a tight schedule.

We'd say the supremely confident (read: cocky) Charlie is the favorite to win, but underrated NYC cutter Nicole snuck into the finals with her impressive twins styling, and who doesn't love an underdog win?

'Project Runway'
(9PM, Bravo)
Stylist Rachel Zoe is to oversize sunglasses and the lollipop-body look what Ashton Kutcher is to trucker hats, which is to say they each deserve the blame for those unfortunate trends. Tonight, Zoe, whose own show premieres on Bravo later this year, is guest judge for an auto-themed challenge.

'America's Got Talent'
(8PM, NBC)
Ten of the top 40 acts perform. Does anyone really think it's possible that a Britney impersonator could win this thing?

'Extreme SeaWorld'
(9PM, Travel Channel)
Shamu in the hizz-ouse!

'Lewis Black's Root of All Evil'
(10:30PM, Comedy Central)
Paul F. Tompkins and Patton Oswalt debate a timely topic: The evilness of blue states vs. red states.

'Criss Angel: Mindfreak'
(10PM, A&E)
Ultimate Fighting Champ or Ultimate Fooling Champ? UFC president Dana White gets a lesson in trickery -- via a knife, a blindfold and a deck of cards -- from Mr. Mindfreaker.

'MythBusters'
(9PM, Discovery)
Adam, Jamie, Grant, Tory and Kari investigate conspiracy theories involving the 1969 moon landing. Love to see 'em tackle the JFK assassination next ...

What's on tomorrow: 'Democratic National Convention,' 'Gong Show' and more
