What to Watch Thursday, Aug. 28

by Kim Potts, posted Aug 28th 2008 5:00AM
'Democratic National Convention'
(10PM, ABC, CBS, NBC)
It all comes down to this: After months of campaigning, political mudslinging and rivalry with Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Party nomination, Barack Obama closes the DNC in Denver with an acceptance speech that will make him, officially, the Democrats' Presidential contender in November.

An extra bit of history on this night in which Obama becomes the first African-American to be a major party Presidential contender: His address to the Invesco Field attendees unfurls on the 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s seminal "I have a dream" speech.

'The Gong Show With Dave Attell'
(10PM, Comedy Central)
Kate Walsh hangs with Adam Carolla and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog as guest judges. Ya gotta admire an actress who can hang with McDreamy and a foul-mouthed rubber pooch.

'Principal's Office'
(9PM, truTV)
Water fights, dress code infractions and cursing in a foreign language are among the reasons students find themselves in the titular hot seat in 'Office,' one of the summer's most addictive new reality shows.

'Glam God With Vivica A. Fox'
(10PM, VH1)
Former E! red carpet hostess Melissa Rivers gives the wannabe stylists tips. But not everyone listens, as one of them concocts a little number that would have been appropriate for Julia Roberts in 'Pretty Woman,' before her big makeover.

'The Moment of Truth'
(8PM, Fox)
It's ba-aaack, with a two-hour episode. Good to have that extra time ... gives the contestants ample opportunity to destroy their personal relationships and humiliate themselves on national TV.

'Live From Abbey Road'
(10PM, Sundance)
Bryan Adams and Ben Harper talk about their music and then -- yay -- perform some of it.

What's on tomorrow: 'Queen Bees,' 'Grizzly Man Diaries' and more
