Big Brother 10: Live feeds report - August 31

by Jackie Schnoop, posted Aug 31st 2008 7:00PM
A tip of the hat from Memphis in the BB10 houseAfter a flurry of activity in the Big Brother 10 house, we're in the doldrums right now. Another Head of Household comp, new nominations, another Power of Veto comp -- we're really talking a flurry, right? But today is Sunday and it will be a day of rest. Oh, that doesn't mean there's nothing happening in the house. There is always backstabbing, scheming, lying, and trashtalking going on!

Read on past the jump for extreme show spoilers -- both Sunday and Tuesday episodes. You've been warned.

Here's the time line of the big show spoiler events so far:

  • Thursday night after the live show -- HOH comp won by Jerry.
  • Friday -- Jerry nominated Keesha and Dan. (Dan is his target.)
  • Into the wee hours of Saturday morning -- PoV comp won by Memphis.

Now, Jerry's original plan was a guy and a girl on the block. There are only two houseguests who can vote this week. He assumed Renny would vote to save Keesha while Memphis would save Dan. Then he (Jerry), would be the tiebreaker and vote Dan out of the house. Neat and tidy, job done.

But it all went kerflooey when Memphis won the Power of Veto. Now all of a sudden, Jerry's not in charge anymore. The power rests with Memphis. Will Memphis be faithful to his Renegades buddy Dan? Or, will his newfound (since Thursday night) alliance with Jerry take precedence? He's made promises to both Jerry and Dan. I believe he'll honor the alliance with Dan and he's just playing Jerry. There will be no more playing after the veto meeting takes place on Monday. But why ruffle those feathers earlier than need be?

Of course, if the veto is used to save anyone, the only one left to go on the block would be Renny. I personally like Renny in the game, but that's her downfall. The others all like her, too. She cooks, she cleans, she can be a hoot, she's a shoulder to cry on for just about anyone, she's left nice goodbye messages to those in the jury house ... in short, she needs to go away. In the final two against any of those left in the house, she'd be the unanimous winner. They don't know about the goodbye messages, but they all know how popular she is with folks.

The original Memphis and Dan plan was to get into the final three with Keesha. Today it looks like they're having a few second thoughts as they discuss how Adam and Ryan took Sheila into the final three because they knew they could both beat her in physical comps. They want to be in the final two together. Are their chances better with Keesha or Jerry?

In house crumbs:

  • They were given arts, crafts, cards, and games last night. Oh, and alcohol, too. I'm sure Michelle is getting her alcohol fix in the jury house. I can picture her now slurring her curses, can't you?
  • Memphis told Keesha that she's safe this week and they're voting out Renny.
  • Keesha is playing dumb and not wanting to tell Renny.
  • Renny is rightfully anxious about being voted out this week.
  • Jerry fell in the pool while looking up at a plane. He lived with a bruised dignity and a battered butt.
  • Jerry thinks he can compete in the HOH comp this week, but it's next week that everybody including the previous HOH winner can play.
  • Next week is also the big PoV winner hoorah -- the PoV winner has the sole vote over who leaves the house.
  • Renny thinks Jerry is boring (yes!) while Keesha thinks he can be very mean (yes).

Wouldn't they HAVE to tell Rennie about Gustav?? It affects her family and friends. There's a mandatory evacuation; I'd want to know.

Merve - I agree, Ollie didn't have any dignity to begin with. A preacher's son, indeed. Not only the skank, April, but his terrible behavior when Dan played him. Breaking things, swearing, calling Memphis a homosexual slur; what's to be proud of?
And you made me laugh with the 'can't get up' comment. I tho't I was the only one with a ....dry sense of humor. I must have laughed at the video for 15 straight minutes.

The last I listened to the HG, there was no mention from Renny that she knew anything about Gustav. I doubt they will tell her unless there is significant news about Matairie, LA. To be honest, telling her would only cause her to worry about her family.

I was so hoping she would win the POV but now that Memphis has, she's probably going to be the one going home. :`(

I know 2 things Ollie didn't take with him - his pride and his dignity. Oh wait, he didn't even bring those into the house with him. And I wonder if Jerry started croaking "I've fallen into the pool and I can't get out."?

He took his gloves in anticipation of using them in the comp. He obviously wasn't thinking clearly. There would be no time for an endurance comp. The others packed his bag for him the next day, left it in the storage room, and soon it joined him in sequester.

I don't think taking the gloves was a bad idea. He may have thought that it was a comp that required climbing or something requiring a grip.

Help me out here, if...correction...when Memphis uses the POV to take Dan off the block...why can't Jerry put Memphis up on the block...oh, because of the deal he made with Memphis...hmmm...I would take Memphis' move as one of disrespect and put his sorry butt up there...deal or no deal...

Rhea - the person who holds the Power of Veto cannot be put up should he/she exercise the POV.

You can't nominate the PoV holder for eviction, so memphis is safe if he does use it.

I would really be sad to see Renny go. Aside from her "Antoinette Soprano" moment as HOH, I think she has played a smart game, but at this late stage, a lot depends on luck and sadly, it doesn't seem to be going her way. It would have been kind of neat to see Jerry and Renny as the final two - just to show the "younguns" that there is more that goes into this game than just physicality, but if it goes down like it appears it will, I'd like it to be Memphis and Dan and I'd like to see Dan take it. Still, you can never predict how the jury will vote.

On a complete side note, yesterday "Patti" posted the previous BB winners - Season 1: Eddie, Season 2: Dr. Will, Season 3: Lisa, Season 4: Jun, Season 5: Drew, Season 6 : Maggie, Season 7: Boogie, Season 8: Dick
Season 9: Adam.

I've watched from season 1. In reviewing the winner's list, I quickly remembered that Seasons 4 and 7 were my least favorite finales and my favorite overall seasons were 2 and 6 (even though I didn't love season 6's outcome), but the funny thing was that I had no recollection whatsoever of season 5's winner - Drew. I went to Youtube to see the season 5 finale and there was Diane, Will, Nicomis, Michael, Jase, etc., all of whom I had strong memories of, but I still couldn't remember Drew. When they finally showed him, a distant glimmer of recognition occured, but I wondered: for me - such a fervent BB fan -was Drew really that non-memorable? Or should I be checking out memory strenthening drugs? ;-)

Drew was like Season 3's winner Lisa. Unmemorable.

In terms of seasons to like overall though, you hit it out of the park with the 2nd and 6th even though I hated HATED the outcome of the 6th as well.

Memphis and Dan taking Jerry to the final 3 is the smart move if they can stand to be in the house with him that long.

Maybe he's really 35 and has altered his appearance to appear 75. That could be this season's "twist" ;-)
