Forget the rest! Keep Michael Badalucco on Bones

by Richard Keller, posted Sep 20th 2008 9:01AM

Michael Badalucco's Scott Starret should be the new intern on BonesAttention to Hart Hanson and Barry Josephson, the creators of Bones: your search for a new intern for Temperance is over. I know I know, you wanted Dr. Brennan to have a number of interns over this season so she could find a suitable replacement for Zack Addy, who went a bit batty in the season finale. But, why waste any more of the show's budget when you exampled the perfect replacement in this past week's episode.

Michael Badalucco, who portrayed Scott Starret -- Bones' oldest intern, is the man for the job. For one thing, he is the total opposite of Zack...friendly, outgoing, worldly. He is also a near perfect fit for the Squints who are missing something now that Bones spends most of her time in the field with Booth. Think about it: Cam is the organizer and the bureaucrat; Hodgins is now the "geek" of the group since Zack left; Angela is the free spirit. Having Starret added to the team would give the Squints a calming, fatherly and well-rounded figure who could be their stabilizing source.

Plus, let's face it, Michael Badalucco is just so cuddly. Just like he was in The Practice. So, what do you think? Am I way off here or would he be your choice for Zack's replacement?

No one can replace Zack. He is the only perfect fit for the role.

OK, another day without a Bones review after a new episode. And as much as I liked last week's intern (and couldn't remember where I had seen him before, thanks for clearing that up) this week's younger intern was appealing also. Of course, now his name escapes me, which is why I popped onto TVS to read the review~!

Wow, the comments are almost unanimous! I, too, thought that Michael Baldacci was a great addition to the cast. I'd love to see him back.

I agree. When I watched this episode, I thought this is the perfect replacement for Zach.

I'm completely with you on that one Lisa! I keep checking for the Bones and Supernatural season premiere recaps but nothing ever appears.

Hello? TV Squadron?? Guys? Where are all the reviews?

I also enjoyed him, and I think he would be a good addition to the cast. But, if they want to do their rotating intern thing, they could do that for a few more eps and then bring him back at the end.

But, more importantly, I wanted to join the chorus about the lack of recaps! Where are the ones for Bones, Fringe, and most importantly (to me) the season premiere of Supernatural?

I didn't see it. He's too old for the vision of the show. We went that route in the first season with the older head guy of the Jeffersonian (name escapes me at the moment) The show has a younger dynamic and he just doesn't fit. I like the 'Murphy Brown Effect' with a new assistant each week. They can be used for comic relief. The others are doing fine without Zack....and should keep it that way.

Have to add my 100% support as well. The moment he started talking and discussing the body, I was hooked. He fit so well into the group, it was as if he was always there. I really do hope they pick him and not some Addy clone.
