Project Runway on Lifetime auf'd?

by Kelly Woo, posted Sep 29th 2008 2:03PM
Project RunwayHeidi and Tim, hold on before you pack your bags.

Variety reports
that a judge has blocked Project Runway's network move from Bravo to Lifetime, putting the sixth season's January debut in limbo. The fifth season is currently airing on Bravo.

To recap: Lifetime signed a five-year, $150 million deal to steal away the hit reality series with its production house, The Weinstein Company. NBC Universal (which owns Bravo) filed suit, claiming that it had the right to match any offer made by another network.
The show will continue filming in Los Angeles (it's splitting time between New York and L.A. for Season 6), but Lifetime cannot advertise the network switch. Obviously, the Weinstein Company will appeal the injunction. But a messy trial could put Runway's future in jeopardy. As Tim Gunn would say, the networks really need to "make it work."

Even though I have my doubts about Runway on Lifetime, I don't want to see the series go off the air for too long (out of sight, out of mind). Then again, after a lackluster fifth season, maybe the show needs a breather. What do you think?

Yes, because it's the Bloggers fault, right?

"If it's anything like the other AOL/Weblogs blogs, they are really not allowed to say anything. "

Because? ??? Is some sort of blood oath involved?
I'm not asking for corporate secretes just some common courtesy to their readers.
And I've seen other blog sites give brief explanations when there's an "interruption in service" as it were.

Have you seen a Weblogs give a reason? Sometimes Yes (the advertising blog did), but many times No (as in DIYLife).

It's like when the Fanboy gaming sites all the sudden had "Staff" working for them. They were the regular writers, but they had to post it as "Staff", because they were not going to be paid. It was not on the Fanboy blogs that people read about the situation, but we did make sure to send love their way. It's not the Bloggers fault.

If you watched the show, you would already get this.

On the show, when a contestant is sent home, Heidi says to them "Auf Wiedersehen"

"Auf'd" is a slang shortening of the term meaning goodbye.

That and many other shows.

It saddens me that TVsquad appears to be dying and nary a word from any of the bloggers as to what is happening.
