Ed McMahon sued (yes, again)

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 1st 2008 12:01PM
Ed McMahonEd McMahon is having the Worst. Year. Ever. Now people are reaching out from beyond the grave to sue him.

The ex-Tonight Show announcer and Star Search host, who is being sued by many people and also almost lost his home a month or so ago, is now being sued by Merv Griffin's company for $100,000. McMahon was having money problems back in 2005 and borrowed the money from Merv. The loan was supposed to be paid back starting last month but McMahon didn't make his first payment, so The Griffin Group, Inc. has filed suit against him. Griffin died last year.

I wonder if these companies are paying attention to the news and see that McMahon has massive money problems, has to sell his home, and is being sued by various other people and those cases haven't been settled yet either. Obviously, if he borrowed the money and agreed to pay it back then it should be paid back. I just wonder if it's logical to even go after it at this point. Maybe they heard the recent news that McMahon is going to costar in some rap videos.

Maybe it's just nostalgia that makes me want McMahon to be out of the woods on this. Johnny would probably help if he was still alive.

So if Poor Ed's wife files for divorce, does she get half of his debt? It would only be fair. The Mad Men review is at http://www.cliqueclack.com/tv or about 10 other places.

Wasn't Griffin a billionaire when he died? I know a deal is a deal, but talk about kicking a guy when he's down! Geez, a 100 grand seems like such a paltry amount for Hollywood, but I guess business is business.

Yeah, I think if Johnny was still alive, Ed's problems would have never had been aired publicly. It's too bad Johnny's last wife won't help out, she must have gotten a small fortune when he passed.

Oh, and will people quit complaining about the lack of a Mad Man review? There are lots of shows I like that don't get reviewed (Criminal Minds, Supernatural, just a couple) but I don't complain about it in every off-topic comment section.

So... this is news.

What's next?

"Lead in your pipes MAY KILL YOU!"

I guess this McMahon BS generates so much clicks you keep regurgitating it.

So being sued when a $100k debt is not repaid is something unusual? Try it yourself and see what happens.

Most people couldn't get it without collateral anyway.

So we get this instead of a Mad Men review?
