Thought no one would win that $1 million of Wheel of Fortune? Think again

by Richard Keller, posted Oct 15th 2008 10:03AM

Michelle Lowenstein become the first million dollar winner on Wheel of FortuneRemember this name: Michelle Loewenstein. No, she's not running for political office, or a network executive, or part of a sex ring that Charlie Sheen participated in at one time or another (and, what sex rings hasn't Charlie Sheen participated in?). You want to remember that name because Michelle became Wheel of Fortune's first million dollar winner.

If you recall, a few months ago we mentioned that Wheel, now in it's 26th syndicated season, was upping the maximum amount a contestant could win during the Bonus Round. The only thing they needed to do was hit the million dollar spot on the wheel (slotted between two Bankrupts, those bastards), not get another Bankrupt throughout the rest of the rounds, chance on hitting the right slot on the bonus wheel (a 1 in 25 shot) and solve the Bonus Round puzzle. Seemed like a pretty big feat to accomplish.

Well, the 24-year-old Loewenstein did it, and in fine fashion. The stars were aligned for Michelle during this episode. Not only did she pick up the million dollar wedge during her very first spin, but she ended up winning a trip to Hawaii and getting a good number of letters on the board during the Bonus Round puzzle (which was Leaky Faucet). Because of the randomness of the million dollar prize I was caught by surprise when Pat did the reveal. That just made the win and Michelle's reaction even more emotional.

Congratulations, Michelle! Give me a call so I can talk to you about an investment that will triple your money in only a few months. It involves a pyramid, but really isn't a scheme at all.

Like I said, if people have issues about the content TV Squad is providing as a whole they should email comments@tvsquad.com, which goes right to the editor. This post, nor any of the other posts we push (fluff or not) should be used as a soap box for someone's personal agenda about another topic. No anger here, just trying to keep the comments to the topic at hand.

not any more

Wait ya'll review Law and Order? I am not going to mention that but I will mention the lack of Project Runway, and other goodies-leaving only either Sci Fi junk (or the like) and this 'hard hitting news' piece you added. (I love fluff but to cut other stuff due to lack of ratings and have stuff like this left is crazy)
Why no comments about that? ARe you afraid it will get in the way of the two comments that are pertaining to your subject?
Atleast you respond to the faithful readers-even if it is in a negative way. That is why people post on other posts because when you write to the comments section-you never get a response.

In most markets the show aired last night. It was part of their 'Canada Week' slate of programs.
