Newcomer cast as Brothers & Sisters long-lost sib

B & SWho is the missing Walker sibling? For a year, the answer was Rebecca, but DNA has proven that that's not William Walker's unaccounted for child. It's a character named Ryan Lafferty and today a newcomer named Luke Grimes has been cast in the role.

When the storyline revealed that there was a Ryan somewhere out there, rumors were rife that a big name would land the role. Jason Ritter and Jason Dohring were in the running, but Grimes is set to sign on the dotted line and his resume is pretty slim, just a couple of minor movies, Assassination of a High School President and All the Boys Love Mandy Lane.

What'll be really interesting is how well the new brother become integrated into this family. In it's third season, Brothers & Sisters has really hit its stride. I find it one show I cannot miss no matter what, which is saying a lot because Sunday nights are packed with shows I want to watch!

A recent episode found Rob Lowe's character, Robert, blast Nora and her family for their whining, annoying interference. It was a terrific speech, especially since it encapsulated the main criticism TV bloggers and writers have with the show. In typical Walker fashion, Nora (Sally Field) gave as good as she got.

As of last night, the warring Walkers -- in this go-round, Tommy vs. Sarah -- buried the hatchet by reliving an episode from childhood when they buried a time capsule. Rebecca's mending fences with Holly, but it's been Holly who is digging up the location of Ryan and Rebecca's just found that out. She's going to share that with the Walkers and Ryan is definitely going to be found.

Ausiello reports that Kitty will be heading to Bakersfield, Ryan's hometown, where she meets George Lafferty, her half-brother's adopted and very protective father. You might think that George would be impressed to meet the wife of Senator Robert McCallister, and a well-known political writer on her own, but apparently he's not.

All this Ryan business will be played out in early 2009.
