What to Watch Wednesday, Oct. 29

by Kim Potts, posted Oct 29th 2008 5:00AM
'Redemption Song'
(11PM, FUSE)
Imagine the women of the 'Bad Girls Club' with rock star aspirations and you've got this deliciously drama-ridden reality series, in which 11 women with checkered pasts and scores of wasted opportunities take what might be their last shot at a career in the music industry.

In fact, the contenders – including Kendra, a self-described 'smorgasbord of crazy' – start the show with host Chris Jericho revealing that each will receive a contract with Geffen Records.

The deals are theirs to lose, and all but one of them will. And we're guessing it'll be the one who can resist what appears to be a group fondness for chugging alcohol right from the bottle.

'Barack Obama Political Message'

(8PM, CBS, NBC, Fox)
He's not trying to sell the Flowbee haircutting system, the Chia Pet or anything made by Ronco ... Obama's using his infomercial time to make his pitch to be our next President, with the election a mere six days away.

'Dirty Sexy Money'
(10PM, ABC)
And speaking of elections, Patrick Darling is hoping to become a senator, which won't happen, his father cautions, if voters find out about his transgender lovah.

'Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Island'

(10PM, MTV) season finale
The final eight head off to the treasure island to try to crack open the chest, but only four of them will share in the $300,000 prize. This show has been a lot of effort for a shot at $75,000 ... wonder if it's occurred to any of them that they could just get a job?

'Lipstick Jungle'
(10PM, NBC)
Is Victory a psychic? She hopes not, because she has a dream about Joe dying while climbing a mountain, and finds out the next day that he's training to climb the Matterhorn.

'Stylista'
(8PM, The CW)
It may be time to consider a new line of work when a job interview sends you into a panic attack that necessitates a trip to the emergency room, as happens to one of the wannabe fashion mag editors in tonight's competition.

Also on tonight:
- 'Britain's Youngest Grannies' (9PM, BBC America)
- 'Six for the Road' (10PM, TLC)
- 'UFO Hunters' season premiere (10PM, History)

What's on tomorrow: '30 Rock,' 'Ugly Betty' and more
