Three people Kristen Wiig should impersonate on SNL - VIDEOS

Sandra Lee
Annie recently posted her top 10 Kristen Wiig Saturday Night Live moments, and I happen to agree that Wiig seems to be one of the SNL MVPs now. Remember just a short time ago when she was in the "featuring" category instead of one of the main players? She's earned it, that's for sure. Even when her impersonations aren't dead on (such as this past weekend's Elisabeth Hasselbeck), you know who she's doing, and she really throws herself into the character. I think her Hasselbeck will get better, and her other impersonations have been just dead-on and brilliant (Judy Garland, Suze Orman, Gloria Swanson, Jamie Lee Curtis).

But I was thinking that there are three other people that would be naturals for Wiig to impersonate.

1. Sandra Lee. Oh, can you just see Wiig as the semi-homemade goddess? I think she'd get the voice and mannerisms down exact. Actually, has the show even spoofed Lee before? You'd think she would be a natural candidate for the show (and I actually like Lee and her cooking methods).

2. Cloris Leachman. Specifically, Cloris Leachman on Dancing with the Stars. A massive gap in their ages, but I have a feeling Wiig would find the perfect angle on Leachman (the video below actually plays like an SNL Digital Short). Probably too late to do this though, now that she's off the show.

3. Diane Sawyer. Jan Hooks did a good Sawyer during the 1988 election, but I think Wiig could nail smile, her voice, her odd mixture of seriousness and morning show goofiness. Sawyer is actually one of the more annoying TV personalities in the morning, and Wiig could really have fun with that.

I'm surprised that there are any fans of Kristen Wiig out there. I haven't seen a less funny, less talented person on SNL since Maya Rudolph. Seriously, who are these peoples' connections that get them into the SNL troupe with nothing to add?

I'm a little surprised that nobody's mentioned Ann Coulter. Amy did her before, but it was one of her few misfires. Coulter's glassy eyes and nicotine drone are right in Wiig's wheelhouse.

How about Katie Couric now that Amy is gone on maternity leave?

Oh my gosh, Sandra Lee would be perfect! Her show begs to be parodied, and Wiig is SO perfect for the role. Now the question is: would enough people even be aware of who Lee is for it to play to the SNL audience?

So you're the one who watches Sandra Lee. I knew somebody had to.

She gives me the creeps, which would make her a natural for an SNL parody.
