Gossip Girl: There Might Be Blood

Gossip Girl(S02E09) "He is my parent. The one getting me arrested!" - Jenny about Rufus

I can sum up this week's episode of Gossip Girl with six words: The. Downfall. Of. Little. Miss. J. And I can sum up my opinion of the episode with four words: Did. Not. Like. It.

I've said it last week and, sadly, I have to say it again this week: the writers wrecked my perfect Little Miss J. After reading the comments TV Squad readers left in response to my review of last week's episode, it looks like I'm not alone feeling this way. I understand that Jenny can't always be perfect and that she has to make mistakes to learn and grow up but the writers have gone too far with her and, from the previews of next week's episode, it looks like we ain't seen nothing yet.

The guerilla fashion show was a cool idea but did Jenny have to wait for the award presentation to start to crash the party? She hesitated going through with the show when she saw it was an award presentation for Lily and Bart, people who have been nice to her. Couldn't she at least have her fashion show while guests were mingling and having drinks? Yes, it's more dramatic to stop the award presentation but it would have been a itsy bitsy more respectful to do it sooner in the evening.

I don't mind Nate and Jenny as much as I mind Agnes and Jenny. Nate has been supportive of Jenny and tried to protect her. Agnes is just a terrible influence on Jenny. Yes, the lady helps Jenny achieve greatness but path they are taking to get there is not the safest or most appropriate. Sadly, it looks like Jenny will need to hit rock bottom before going back to whom she used to be. Agnes will also need to take a hike!

Do you enjoy Jenny's storyline? Vote in our poll below and let your voice be heard in comments.

Other tidbits of interest:
  • It looks like Serena and Blair's friendship is still in the honeymoon phase. Yes, they had a little fallout this week but Serena was really supportive of Blair and tried her best to have her win over Emma and her parents. I'm still waiting for a S and B break up in the coming weeks. It's too good to last.
  • Why couldn't Aaron tell Serena the truth? Maybe he wants to see if she can trust him? I have no idea why he is surrounded by women but it wouldn't surprise me that they are (nude?) models he takes picture of.
  • Dan finishing his story about Chuck is probably a way for him to get Shapiro to write a recommendation letter so that he can get into Yale since Jordan was of no help this time around. As hinted by Gossip Girl, this turn of events could mean bad things to Dan... What will Chuck do if he finds out Dan finished the story? Will it get published? Then again, good can come out of it if Shapiro likes it.
  • Chuck. Chuck. Chuck. He didn't have much screen time this week but his actions were instrumental in Emma's storyline. So funny to hear him say that he was assaulted by Emma and that the back of the limo is sacred. Yeah right. Like he never assaulted girls the same way Emma assaulted him!

I am glad Jenny has some depth to her now. I really liked the geurilla fashion show, although in reality it might have made more sense to crash a club where celebs would hang out and want to wear her creations, not old people who aren't in fashion.

don't really care at all about Aaron. MOVE ON.
