Here's a sneak peek at Dollhouse - VIDEO

DollhouseIs it me or does this preview (after the jump) for Dollhouse make the plot seem a lot like NBC's My Own Worst Enemy?

Now, obviously, there are differences. The lead in Dollhouse is a woman and there seems to be a team of agents not just one, and the entire show looks like it has a lot more moody science fiction elements than MOWE. But there seems to be a similar framework to the plot: agents live one life when they're awake and then they go through some special process where they become someone else and have other talents and are sent off on a secret mission. Then they come back and go back to the way they were.

That's the way it looks like in the trailer anyway.

It does seem that the character knows what's going on in both lives, unlike MOWE's Christian Slater who had no idea about the switch (though does now). Anyway, it looks like yet another cool show from Joss Whedon. I just hope it doesn't get lost in all of the other action/superhero/sci-fi shows on the air right now (Fringe, Heroes, Sarah Connor Chronicles, just to name a few shows this could get lumped in with).

The dolls/actives do not have any sort of life when they aren't programmed, so.. no, this is not the same as MOWE. Not to mention, this show was thought up before that show was even talked about if I'm not mistaken. The show's premise is over a year old.

Anita...the dialogue is very unattractive out of context, surely. Joss used regular kind of sayings like that [but not often] in his other shows, and they always played off well in one way or another.

Matteo, according to someone who has heard the show's theme, it is... well, not the show's theme. But it does sound like it is by the same artist[s] doing the theme. Maybe a song for the closing of the show? It is surely fitting lyrically. We'll see, I guess!

I'll be watching, that's for sure. Knowing Joss' writing style and the overall feeling of his shows, assuming it gets a mediocre audience I am assuming it will get a full season. I'd like the chance for once (since Angel) to see this guy's material come to fruition.

This looks ok. I wish they never got rid of Firefly. I thought that was a kick ass show.

Hmm, I don't know. The show's premise excited me, but this trailer doesn't seem too interesting, dialogue-wise or acting-wise. Either way I'll still check out the premiere -

MOWE is complete crap compared to this. Not even the explosion in EP 3 of the Slater Series comes close to the music, the camera movements, the sexual tension and the soft focus used in this preview for "Dollhouse". Comparing the two is like comparing Stan Lee's X-Men to Haegar.

Shame on you. Go stand in a corner.

God I lapped this up because it was about Dollhouse before even looking who wrote it. It's always the same with you, Bob. Damn you. Why do I even bother to answer...

I'm very excited about this series, and while I like the new trailer, I think the first one really revealed more of the plot and looked more original.
