What to Watch Thursday, Nov. 13

by Kim Potts, posted Nov 13th 2008 5:00AM
R'ER'
(10PM, NBC)
No, no, don't worry ... there'll be no "Bobby in the shower" scene as original 'ER' cast member Anthony Edwards returns to guest star in tonight's episode.

Dr. Mark Greene, sadly, is still dead from that season eight brain tumor. Instead, he returns via a flashback that cleverly sheds light on the past of Dr. Banfield (Angela Bassett). Stressed out from her hospital duties, Banfield decides to go for a run, where she happens upon a three-year-old girl who's drowning in a lake.

While trying to save the tot, Banfield flashes back to years earlier, when her son was a patient at County, and Dr. Greene was caring for him.

'30 Rock'
(9:30PM, NBC)
This is what an Emmy-winning comedy looks like: Jennifer Aniston guest stars as Liz's friend Claire, a stalker who sets her sights on Jack, while Tracy gathers the cast of 'Night Court' to cheer up retro TV fan Kenneth, who's depressed about the new NBC page uniforms.

'The Sarah Silverman Program'
(10:30PM, Comedy Central)
The episode's called 'Fetus Don't Fail Me Now,' and revolves around Sarah being shocked to find out she's pregnant. There isn't a thing about that last sentence that isn't destined to end in political incorrectness.

'My Name Is Earl'
(8PM, NBC)
Karma list aside, Earl and Randy probably qualify as the black sheep of their family, which makes it all the more annoying for Earl when everyone's favorite (and more handsome) relative, cousin Blake (guest star Jason Priestley), visits Camden County.

'The Office'
(9PM, NBC)
Pam's coming home from art school ... or so Jim hopes. And in other relationshippy news, Andy and Oscar become unlikely pals during a road trip with Michael. There isn't a thing about that last sentence that isn't destined to end in hilarity.

'Iconoclasts'
(9PM, Sundance)
Funny guy Bill Maher and music industry legend Clive Davis have a sitdown to chat about politics, religion and how they began their careers.

'Kitchen Nightmares'

(8 and 9PM, Fox)
Back-to-back new installments kick off with Gordon's visit to a Connecticut Italian eatery, whose owner becomes so frustrated with the criticism his staff and Ramsay level at him that he shuts down the restaurant himself.

Also on tonight:
- 'Grey's Anatomy' (9PM, ABC)
- 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' (10PM, FX)
- 'Dirty Driving: Thundercars of Indiana' (10PM, HBO

What's on tomorrow: 'Real Time With Bill Maher,' 'Ghost Whisperer' and more
