What Jane is thankful for
Oh my. So much to be thankful for, even though the fall season hasn't been all that great. Here's my list: Rogue agents. It's been Far.Too.Long since Jack Bauer has entered our living room, and we couldn't be more gleeful about his return - both the 24 movie and the series in January. Welcome back, Jack! We missed you! Well, my son and I have! My daughter and husband don't get you, but that's ok!
Mad scientists. That crazy Walter Bishop really brightens up our Tuesday nights around here. My son goes to school on Wednesday, talks about Fringe with his buddies, then texts me back their thoughts on The Observer, the cylinders, Massive Dynamic and all the rest. Of course, Walter is the best thing about the show. We love him.
Grieving pot dealers. I watched the entire series of Weeds this summer on DVD, and I'm impatiently awaiting the most recent season, which I haven't seen yet. No one has done grief so wildly and resourcefully as Nancy Botwin aka Mary-Louise Parker. She lives on the edge and does it well.
Wardrobe saviors. Since watching Tim Gunn's Guide to Style on Bravo, I've: 1) edited out my closet; 2) bought a sewing machine; and 3) made it work. I could easily be one of those women on the show who gets the once over from Tim Gunn and his sidekick Gretta Monahan. Oh, the fashion faux pas I commit. Too many to list.
War doctors. My son asked what my favorite show of all time is, and it's a tough choice, but I'd have to say M*A*S*H. Hubby and I have been watching it for some 30 years and continue to watch the reruns every night. I figure if Hawkeye, B.J., and all the rest can get through their days with grace and humor, then surely we can, too.
Lovestruck vampires. Edward Cullen may be hot in theaters right now, but Bill Compton is all the rage in my house. Well, ok, no one else around here gets my fascination with True Blood, and to be honest, I don't really get it either! But between Sam's shapeshifting, Eric's bad-boy attraction, and Bill's love for Sookie, I'm hooked.
What about you? What TV-isms are YOU thankful for right now?
