What's On Thanksgiving

by Bob Sassone, posted Nov 26th 2008 7:05PM
Macy's ParadeSo Mike has already given you a heads up on what's on TV Thanksgiving, on the geek end of the spectrum, so I thought I'd do a companion piece for the viewers who are wondering what channel the Macy's Parade is on and what time each football game starts. There are also some great marathons on as well.

  • Food Network has Thanksgiving shows all day.
  • At 7am, ABC's Good Morning, America, CBS's The Early Show, and NBC's Today will have various Thanksgiving segments, including cooking tips (kind of last minute, but every tip helps).
  • ABC Family has the movie The Christmas Secret at 7.
  • At 8, USA has a House marathon.

  • At 9, NBC will have complete coverage of The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Over on CBS, they'll have highlights of the parade.
  • G4 has an Arrested Development marathon starting at 9.
  • At 10, TNT has a marathon of The Closer.
  • Also at 10: TV Land starts their I Love Lucy marathon.
  • At 11, BBC America has a Gavin & Stacey marathon.
  • At noon, CBS has the Titans/Lions game.
  • NBC has The National Dog Show at noon, then Miracle on 34th Street.
  • History Channel has Inside The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade at noon.
  • The movie Christmas Do-Over airs on ABC Family at noon.
  • There's a Chowder marathon on Cartoon Network at noon.
  • At 1pm, National Geographic Channel has Thanksgiving Unstuffed.
  • At 3, Disney has a Suite Life of Zack & Cody marathon.
  • At 4, FOX has the Seahawks/Cowboys game.
  • Syndicated sitcom-wise, various stations will have Thanksgiving episodes of shows like Still Standing, Scrubs, According To Jim, Family Guy, and Roseanne this afternoon.
  • At 4:30, TBS has a Thanksgiving King of Queens episode.
  • At 6, Fine Living Network has Martha Stewart's Thanksgiving Special.
  • At 6:30, TBS has a Thanksgiving Friends episode (four more Thanksgiving episodes air at 8).
  • At 7, ABC Family has the movie Sons of Mistletoe, followed by the movie The Christmas List.

I thought it was really weird that there is only one parade this year. Isn't there usually Macy's parade plus one other crappy one? I remember flipping channels in past years to find the least offensively bad parade to watch.

Gonna be hard to avoid something offensive with Archuleta and Cyrus on the Macy's parade though :( Shoot me now.
