Hi I'm Jason, and Brothers & Sisters gives me the warm fuzzies

Brothers & Sisters
Do you have those things on your favorite shows that just make you smile when they happen? It's not like it's the highlight of the show or anything; maybe it's just giving you those warm fuzzies inside. Maybe it's when Earl crosses something off his list on My Name is Earl. Or maybe it's as simple as when Penny sits in Sheldon's spot on The Big Bang Theory. Those familiar moments somehow make us feel like we're with old friends.

I get those. Most recently, I've been getting them when the Walkers of ABC's Brothers & Sisters are all on the phone together in some kind of mass speaker phone teleconferencing chain from hell. I'd say I don't normally watch these family soaps, but I've always liked Sally Field, and when she was recast as the matriarch of the Walkers, I found myself tuning in. This despite the fact that Ally McBeal's lips looked even puffier and she's still way too skinny. But then she married Rob Lowe and I've always liked him, too.

The next thing I know, I'm getting all warm and fuzzy inside at the littlest things they do. This past week, Robert was inadvertently pulled into one of these mass phone calls, and you could see the anguish on the poor guy's face. "How can you people hear yourselves think?" he shouted in exasperation at one point, and I realized I was sitting there, all alone with a smile on my face. How did this happen? How did these Walkers get under my skin to the point of eliciting a true physical reaction out of me? It's those damned warm fuzzies.

So now that I've opened up and bared my soul, what gives you the warm fuzzies on television? Is it Hiro scrunching his eyes closed to stop time on Heroes? Little Richie walking into a wall or tripping over nothing on The New Adventures of Old Christine (I swear that kid is modeled after mine!)? What are those little moments on television that speak to you warmly? That somehow make you feel like you're with family, or at the very least, good friends?

I've always called Brothers and Sisters my "comfort food" TV. Something about the crazy and the love on the show just feels right. I also love Kevin and Scotty together!

When Dexter files another droplet of blood between two slides and stowes his box of them behind the window unit air conditioner in his apartment, I feel warm & fuzzy knowing he's put another fictional really bad criminal who eluded incarceration due to some legal loophole away.

hahah, I'm getting all warm and fuzzy inside at the littlest things they do, too.
I adore this show, I love the family relationships, Scotty and Kev, the consistently amazing performance by Rachel Griffiths, and I even love Holly no matter how wicked the Walkers think she is.
Sunday night at 10pm, It's a perfect show to end the weekend on, all warm and fuzzy inside before bedtime.
