In just a little over a month (Wednesday, January 21st can't come soon enough), season five of Lost begins on ABC. After a shortened fourth season (because of the writer's strike), fans have been salivating for answers after the absolutely insane three-hour finale.

Where did the island go? How did Locke die? And why the heck do the Oceanic Six need to go back?

Well... keep holding your breath for those answers. Fortunately, the Lost season four DVD will provide some respite in the meantime. While it won't be released until next Tuesday, 12/9, many of the DVD featurette extras have been made available online and we got our hands on a couple.

So if you feel like knowing what happens behind the scenes down in Hawaii, then you're going to want to see these clips. Plus, if you feel like being spoiled a tiny bit, I've also included a sneak peek from the upcoming season five premiere, "Because You Left."

First up is a great little one-on-on with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse and they're talking about - what else - the final scene from last season when it was revealed that John Locke is Jeremy Bentham and Jeremy Bentham is dead.

As many were aware, the scene was re-shot with two others in the coffin - Sawyer and Desmond. The decoys were only made to prevent the actual body from being publicly known should anything have been leaked prior to the finale airing. What I found amusing was Lindelof and Cuse admitting that they were terrified that the wrong body would be in the coffin when the episode premiered. As someone who's worked in TV for a number of years now, I'll tell you that the chances of that actually happening are extremely slim, but when you consider how many different hands go into making a TV show, the fear of a mistake being made is very real.

Next up is a short clip from what I imagine must be from a larger featurette on the "boaties." However, this snippet only focuses on - brace yourself ladies - Keamy. From what I recall, female fans were drooling over this guy (too bad he's dead), so the final seconds of this clip are sure to please. Also enjoyable? Michael Emerson saying that Keamy was so bad, it made Ben look like a "kooky uncle."



The final DVD extra I've got for you is one of those videos that just makes you jealous. Working for a TV show is cool all by itself. But working for a TV show that also happens to tape EVERYTHING in Hawaii? Um... dream job? Surfing on your lunch break? I could get used to that.



And, as promised, here's the one sneak peek that ABC has officially released for the new season. It focuses on only Kate and Aaron, but it sets up something that I think we all expected would happen sooner or later. With that in mind, it's not super-spoilery, but it certainly does get you pumped for what's coming. Who do you think is behind Kate's two visitors? Again... January 21st can't come soon enough.
