What to Watch Wednesay, Dec. 10

by Kim Potts, posted Dec 10th 2008 5:00AM
whitney port'Whitney: From The Hills to The City'
(10PM, MTV)
You know Whitney ... she's 'The Hills' cast member who hasn't fought with her castmates, been accused of sleeping with a friend's dude or foolishly turned down a summer job in Paris to stay with her doofus boyfriend.

In short, Whitney's the calm in a storm of dramarama, which is why the friend-of-Lauren has been a fan favorite, and now the star of her own spin-off series, 'The City.'

This 90-minute special tracks Whit from her internship with L.C. at Teen Vogue to her gig at People's Revolution in Los Angeles, and previews her new life (and Dec. 29 'City' premiere) in New York, where she'll be working for legendary designer Diane von Fürstenberg.

'Top Chef'
(10PM, Bravo)
The chefs create frou frou fare for judge Gail's bridal shower, but the reactions from partygoers suggest the contestants might have been better off serving pastel cupcakes and pigs in a blanket.

'Stylista'
(9PM, The CW)
The remaining four -- DyShaun, Johanna, Megan and Ashlie -- have to produce a fashion show for an unknown designer. Much cattiness ensues.

'UFC Fight for the Troops'
(9PM, Spike)
Even if you're not into the UFC thang, this is a worthwhile event, as the mixed martial arts athletes raise moolah to help finance a traumatic brain injury treatment center for U.S. military members.

'The New Adventures of Old Christine'
(8PM, CBS)
Scene stealer Megan Mullally guests as a corporate type who delivers bad news to Christine and Barb: a contract infraction may end up costing them their gym franchise.

'Private Practice'

(9PM, ABC)
Oh no she di'int! It's private practice vs. private practice when Charlotte opens her own wellness center and even snags one of Addison's patients.

Also on tonight:
- 'Little Spirit: Christmas in New York' (8PM, NBC)
- 'Bar Food Paradise' (9PM, Travel)

What's on tomorrow: 'CSI,' 'The Office' and more
