What to Watch Friday, Dec. 26

by Kim Potts, posted Dec 26th 2008 5:00AM
jennifer aniston'Jennifer Aniston: An E! Entertainment Special'
(8PM, E!)
That GQ magazine cover would seem to prove that there's little yet to be revealed about the 'Friends' and 'Marley & Me' star.

But the E! folk claim otherwise, as this special delves into her early career, her 'Friends' days and her more recent comedy works, including her well-received guest gig on '30 Rock' this season.

And, of course, no Aniston bio would be complete without a peek into her personal life, which includes interviews with celeb pals Marlo Thomas and Kathy Najimy, and dish on the Brangelina brouhaha, her tempestuous relationship with her mom and her recent on-again, off-again romance with playboy rock star John Mayer.

'How It's Made'
(9PM and 10:30PM, Science)
Between these two installments, we'll see how sugar, carburetors, Yule logs, ham, candy canes and air conditioners are made.

'Dirty Jobs'
(10AM, Discovery) marathon
Mike gets down and dirty in this 16-hour marathon in which he works as a mushroom farmer, alligator egg collector (think swamps), cattle rancher, sheep castrator and artificial inseminator of pigs.

'Crash'
(10PM, Starz)
Kenny and Amy head to marriage counseling, but it's probably a moot plan at this point.

'Say Yes to the Dress'
(10:30PM, TLC)
Dudes in the house, dudes in the house! And if fussy brides are a pain in the posterior, it's nothing compared to how Keasha's patience gets tested when two opinionated grooms accompany their brides to shop for wedding frocks.

'Whale Wars'
(4PM, Animal Planet) marathon
Season 2 is a go for summer 2009, but the network's giving viewers a chance to catch up with all seven season-one episodes in this line-up, which introduced the crew of the Steve Irwin and their leader Paul Watson, who tries to thwart the efforts of Japanese whale hunters.

Also on tonight:
- 'Degrassi: The Next Generation' (8PM, The N) marathon
- 'SportsCenter 2008: The Greatest Year IN Sports' (9:30PM, ESPN)

What's on this weekend: 'Dog Whisperer,' 'Planet Earth' marathon and more
