Twenty funniest Will Ferrell moments of all time - VIDEOS

by Annie Wu, posted Jan 10th 2009 2:08PM
Will FerrellManofest has this great list of the twenty funniest Will Ferrell moments, picked from various moments of his career. There are a few clips from his film career (sorry, but no part of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby should be on this list, let alone exist), but most of the points harken back to his Saturday Night Live days. There are a lot of interesting choices; it's fun to look back and re-visit where Ferrell got his big break.

Check out the full list for videos. I don't recommend lingering on the Manofest site for long stretches of time, because they promise "masculinity times infinity." Halfway through the list, I blacked out and crushed four beer cans on my forehead. None of them were empty.

I had never seen the video of Will Ferrell crashing CNBC, nor do I recall his sexy leprecahaun dance for Conan O'Brien. Maybe I repressed the memory of that last one. hough the Spartans with Cheri Oteri and the classic cowbell sketch with Christopher Walken are still very fresh in my mind, I had somehow forgotten about the "Boss From Hell" sketch and felt an odd rush of nostalgia half-way through viewing it. In the interest of helping my readers laugh until they hurt something, I have posted it here.

Also, the list didn't include my favorite Harry Caray sketch because they couldn't find the video, but thanks to some quick sleuthing, I've got it here. Enjoy the Ferrell/Goldblum love.

I certainly miss what Will Ferrell brought to the table as a cast member. Most -- if not all -- of his most successful characters were a beautiful display of crazed, inapprorpriate aggression or pained self-loathing. Today's cast reeks of hipster irony and wacky voices and it'd be nice to bring back some of the darker stuff. Seriously, that "Boss From Hell" sketch seemed more grotesque and wrong than the bloodbath that was "Everyone's a Critic."

What are some of your favorite Will Ferrell characters or moments?

I'm not familiar with Manofest, but I give them credit for rating Ferrell's Robert Goulet impression so high.

One noticeable omission from the list: Ferrell singing on Letterman on a rotating pedestal!
