Don Cheadle getting into the TV business

One of Hollywood's most multifaceted actors just got a little more multifaceted without the aid of surgery or some kind of psychological disorder that makes him think he's a 19th century schoolgirl. Actor Don Cheadle is making his return to TV land (remember him in Picket Fences?) under his production company, Crescendo Productions.
The deal is with Universal for two years. So far, no shows have been officially announced but he is expected to announce his starting lineup during the Television Critics Association's press tour.
This is very good news for televisions and the eyeballs that love them. Cheadle is one of the few major actors on the big screen that what can only be called true range. He's done comedies that are actually funny. He's done serious roles in everything from action films to heartbreaking dramas. He's done a cameo in Rush Hour 2, but we can just overlook that for the time being.
It's hard to predict exactly what Cheadle's team will bring to TV's table because he's got such an eclectic and varied resume. Most likely, it will be something dramatic but the touches and style he can bring to the projects his team will put together know no bounds.
Me? I'm hoping for Swordfish: The Animated Series. A man can dream.
