What to Watch Friday, Feb. 13

by Kim Potts, posted Feb 13th 2009 5:00AM
Dollhouse'Dollhouse'
(9PM, Fox) series premiere
Fans of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' creator Joss Whedon have certainly been awaiting this new drama, about a group of for-hire female secret operatives (led by Eliza Dushku) who live together in the titular Dollhouse and who are programmed with new personalities, with new skill sets, for each job.

Sound a bit high concept? Indeed it is, which is why it may be only the true Whedon devotees who are immediately taken with the show, which has already been compared by some critics to softcore "Skinemax"-ish programming.

As for us, we're reserving final judgment until we've seen a few more episodes. Besides, any time Whedon creates a new tube entry, the premiere, at least, is must-see-TV.

'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'

(8PM, Fox)
The first of nine new episodes that will wrap up season two kicks off the show's new Friday night timeslot and will perhaps shed some clues on the identity of the major character who's rumored to bite the dust before season's end.

'Battlestar Galactica'
(10PM, Sci Fi)
Ellen Tigh's back, as is Anders' memory.

'Psych'
(10PM, USA)
Shawn and Gus return to their childhood camp to help solve the disappearance of a counselor, which sets up two treats for 'Psych' fans: a guest appearance by Mallory Keaton, aka Justine Bateman, and the revelation of Shawn's camp-y arts & crafts project, a Rick Astley piata.

'Monk'
(9PM, VH1)
And in one of the more specific theme nights of all-time, another 'Family Ties' alum, Scott Valentine (who portrayed the 'Yo, Mallory'-spouting Nick), guest stars as a magic man.

'Friday Night Lights'
(9PM, NBC)
Love is not in the air in Dillon, despite the imminent holiday. Jason tries to make Erin see that she and the baby belong with him (she disagrees), while Tyra thinks new boyfriend Cash is the bee's knees, until she gets a glimpse at his dark side.

Also on tonight:
- 'Ghost Whisperer' (8PM, CBS)
- 'Adrenaline Rush Hour' (9PM, Discovery)
