Non-shocking news of the day: Survivor renewed for two more seasons

by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 26th 2009 5:01PM
SurvivorThis will come as a surprise to no one, but it will make fans happy anyway: CBS has renewed Survivor for two more seasons.

All this talk today of The Simpsons being renewed for a 22nd season it's easy to forget that this will be the 20th season of this show. OK, it's not 20 years because the show often has more than one season per year, but that's still pretty long. Jeff Probst will stay on as host.

I think I've said this in every post about Survivor, but I think it's worth repeating: I'd like to see a cold climate version of Survivor at some point. Enough with the islands and the beaches and the jungles. I know that they probably will have to reconfigure how the show is done because you don't want people freezing to death when the temps drop at night. But we certainly need a change for the show, and colder weather will mean they can have a special "Reward Shack" where there will be a hot tub where the winners of a challenge or whatever can warm up (if you're worried that a colder climate season of the show would mean no bikinis on the women, there's your answer).

Cold location won't work. No nudity and a hot tub is Big Brother.

For season 20 they should have old all stars Vs. New all stars

Have a cold location {but not in the dead of Winter} just keep Survivor on the air because this is one of the best reality shows out there and the only one I watch. Keep it coming.

Jeff Probst said it best when he gave his idea for Survivor 20....

Get all 19 previous winners and have them battle it out.
A Survivor Tournament of Champions.

Hatch will be out of jail by then, so it would work out.

That would indeed be insanely cool. In any event, I keep waiting to get sick of this show, but it's still as entertaining as ever.

This is the only reality show that I watch on TV, but I hope the 20th season will be the last.

Or have the competition take place during the summer to fall, and spring to summer season change time of the year...

My regular Thursday night Survivor crowd has been rooting for a cold weather show for years.
