Paris Hilton invades your TV screens all night tonight

by Bob Sassone, posted Mar 2nd 2009 11:35AM
Paris HiltonI don't usually watch the CBS Monday night comedy lineup anyway (I watch Chuck and Heroes), but even if I did I think I might want to skip tonight's episodes, or at least put the mute on during the commercial breaks.

In a move that is probably more about promoting Craig Ferguson's show during the debut week of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Ferguson and Paris Hilton will host the CBS lineup tonight. That means that at the start of (and probably during the middle of) Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, and Rules of Engagement, Hilton and Ferguson will be shown sitting on a couch, watching the lineup along with viewers, probably making funny and/or sexually suggestive comments. They're already running a promo that shows Hilton saying "that's hot." Ugh.

Not sure if they're also going to host the only drama in the lineup, CSI: Miami. If you are regular viewers of the comedies, I'd just like to say: I'm sorry.

I, for one, don't give a shit. I mean she's probably only going to be on TV for less than 5 minutes, it's easy to skip through, and I personally don't really find her to be that offensive. Sure she has no discernible skills but it's not her fault that America made her famous. I'd ride that train all the way if I was in her position.

I think The Big Bang Theory and The Late Late Show w/Craig Ferguson are brilliantly funny and that it's about time CBS quit keeping Craig a secret on late night!!! AND...Paris Hilton had some pretty good ideas for her political platform...she might have been a better choice for a running mate! This is going to be good! I'll be watching CBS! haha

It's a great way to encourage more people to find legal and illegal ways to avoid the commercials. Just who is this "value-added" content for, anyway? I thought Paris Hilton was about as popular now as George W. Bush.

Yep, thank goodness for fast forward. Situations like this is what it was invented for. WHY, oh WHY, do people think she's necessary???

Who is over reacting? The network for putting this trash on television? The writer of this article for its negative tone towards Paris Hilton? The commentator who said he would torrent the episodes?

I for one, agree with them all.

Whoever greenlit this idea over at the network needs to be fired...
