Would you watch 24 without Jack Bauer?

Annie Wersching as FBI Agent Renee Walker in Early on in 24's run, and long before Fox knew it was going to be a staple of their network and one of their few reliable sources for solid ratings, Kiefer Sutherland talked about the possibility of the show going on without him. But that was before 24 became a phenomenon and Jack Bauer became an icon in his own right. Now, it's hard to imagine the show without him. And there hasn't really been any talk of it lately, but you do have to wonder if Fox isn't thinking about it.

Don't get me wrong, Season 7 is shaping up to be the second best season of the series so far (sorry, I don't think it will be possible to top Season 5), but what Monday's two-parter showed me was that 24 can be just as compelling without Jack Bauer. For the first hour of the night Jack was behind bars or being lead around by Secret Service agents. And yet there was plenty of action and excitement to keep the adrenaline pumping. Annie Wersching is a blast to watch as FBI Agent Renee Walker. Her ballsy dive both onto Juma's boat and off of it was pure Bauer.

You had Buchanan hustling around the White House with the President and Aaron Pierce the picture of calm and cool with her daughter, even after all hell broke loose. Hell, with Walker (Bauer), Janice (Chloe), Moss (Buchanan) and the FBI (CTU) you could almost replace the whole cast and keep some of the same sentiments. Or maybe we're looking at the foundation of an FBI spin-off for 24. Rebuild CTU in California and keep the FBI team in DC. 24: FBI or something. At this point, I'd trust this writing and production team with just about anything.

Would you watch 24 without Jack Bauer?
No way!3493 (63.7%)
Yes, I love the format314 (5.7%)
I'd watch a spinoff without him, but don't take away my Jack!1673 (30.5%)

never missed a "24". have to say last season was dreary..and this season is better so far...but slipping in excitement and character. there are putrid acting by many, including that FBI office gal with big glasses, Chloe and her husband. "Jonas" is (was) fine. the worst part of the series ((the past 2 seasons) has been horrible scripts. look like the writers were ad-libbing and not coordinating well. Maybe the writers' strike had a bearing. the early years of "24" were far more suspenseful, better [logtted and better acted. PLEASE keep jack's daughter OUT of 24!!

I just started watching 24 the beginning if this season after my son told me how great it was. Got hooked right away and purchased seasons 1 through 6! I have watched all 6 seasons in a short amount of time. It was alot of late nights because I couldn't turn it off! My husband thought I was crazy, but he loves the show too and has watched season 7 with me every Monday night.
The show just wouldn't be the same without Jack. Gotta love Tony too! Go Team Jack!

24 would not be 24 without Jack and Choe!! I absolutely look forward to Monday nights each week. The entire cast is excellent, the President this season is outstanding but, without Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) it would not be the same.

Calling Liev Schreiber. Liev Schreiber to casting. He was easily the best thing in "Sum of All Fears". He would be a very good replacement for Kiefer.

I would never dream of watching 24 if there was no Jack, that is ludacris. There is no show without Jack. I think this year doesn't have enough Bauer actually. it seems like all the other characters are just plain annoying. Everyone gets in his way and are just stupid whiney babies. Jack is bad ass. I love him. there is no reason to watch 24 without him. I think if fox ever killed him off they would be making the biggest mistake ever and their ratings would be unimaginably low, and would serve them right.

I'm 32 years man from Iran and I didn't missed even one minute of all series till now ( via my satellite reciever I'm following )
the only reason that I follow this great stories is Jack Bauer , Just him ! )
This guy is perfect , damn to anyone who wants to remove him )
Keiffer Sutherland is a great honor for Americans.
I have a question from any one who suggested this ridiculous idea
If you remove Jesus Christ from Christianity is there any thing remain as Christianity?
so if you remove Jack from 24 so nothing remain to watch
God bless you jack
