Dancing with the Stars: Week 3 results

Dancing with the Stars: Week 3 ResultsSteve Wozniak dodges yet another bullet. Not only did Steve not have to battle for his life, he was called early to the surprise of Karina. Steve Wozniak has fans. Lots of fans. I remember Kathy Griffin mentioning he had "Mac Enthusiasts" in her last comedy CD, but I guess they were actually as fanatic as she joked about. He must be getting the most votes to overcompensate a 10.

I smirked a little watching the show. I'm not sure why, but there was a glitch at one point when Samantha was interviewing Melissa. I was almost happy that I didn't have to hear her voice. Anyhoo, after seeing Steve safe, the bottom two was obvious. More information after the jump.

We start the night with the condensed version of last night's dance. The only thing I remembered is the fact that Karina poked the Woz. Popping. Fresh. Woz. Now that's a gimmick better than the pink boa from a week ago. In the first round of safe contestants, Steve & Karina are deemed safe. Karina gives the most intense shriek of happiness. Then there was fluff for the next 20 minutes or so.

Cloris & Corky – I applaud Corky for being such a good sport. They, along with the help of Len's voice, introduce the two new dances: the Lindy Hop and the Argentine Tango. Lindy Hop's main points are the Swing-Out, Charleston, and Over the Back. Lifts are allowed. I'm actually excited to see Lindy Hop with contemporary music. I'm sure I'll recant that statement next week.

For the Argentine Tango, the dance represents a story of a Gaucho and ladies of the night. If I were Cloris, I'd want my money upfront. The notable moves are the dramatic La Caminata, La Caza, Ganchos, and Adornments. Cloris and Corky then kiss. Old people interaction: you know it happens, but you don't really want to look.

Hall & Oates – Maneater – Maks, Toni, Dmitry, and Karina perform. Seeing 80's Karina is amazing. Somehow I accept leg warmers on dancers, because it seems like something useful in dance. For the first dance section, the men chuck Karina around. I would have made that quip that Karina picked Maks in the end being appropriate, but since Samantha Harris actually said it, it's no longer funny.

Adele – Chasing Pavements – Alec and Edyta perform. I'm a little nervous for Adele because she's been trying to promote the same song for a year now. I like her, but how about a new song soon? At least she's employing a string section. I love Edyta's lines, and with someone strong like Alec dancing with her, it's beautiful. It helps that Edyta always has minimal wardrobe.

After 35 minutes of waiting, we find out that our bottom two are Holly and Dimtry, and Denise and Maks. It's an E! off. After a coin toss, Holly and Dmitry go first.

Holly & Dmitry – Samba - We are reminded of Len's match statement and Carrie Ann's lift docking. They want to make sure the criticism is absorbed. Dmitry emphasizes good eye contact. In the beginning, the lift still happens, but slightly closer to the ground. It's less robotic than I remembered, but there is even more fear in Holly's face. She looked like she had more fun the second time around.

Len thought she wasn't as wooden and she looked like a party girl. Maybe she should hang out on the beach with Bridget more often. Len points out a mistake at a promenade section. Bruno knows that she's hot throughout her body, but her timing needs help. Carrie Ann likes the party atmosphere and she kept her foot on the ground. (It must have been the angle, but it looked like it was off.) Score: 18 (6, 6, 6) Previously: 17

Dmitry tires to recant his words (about having Jewel) from yesterday in the red room, but there are tons of people that don't watch the results, so we'll probably hear the same phrase next week.

Denise & Maks – Samba – Bruno called last night one of those nights. Denise wouldn't be shocked if she was in the bottom. Her reasoning was that her foot kept slipping. Maks wants her to think less. He also decides to point out her face and expression. I'm not sure what was worse, Denise's constipated face or Lil Kim's porn face. While they dance, Denise loosens up; she strains her face to hold a smile but it seems like a fake pageant smile (Drop Dead Gorgeous comes to mind.)

Bruno thought that under the circumstances, she improved leaps and bounds. She disconnects in the middle. Bruno wants her to be an actress. Haha. Carrie Ann thinks she's good under pressure. She worked on the hands and performance. Len thought that this was a good chance for her to stay. Score: 20 (6, 7, 7) Previously: 18

The couple with the lowest score was Denise and Maks. She dances out to Hall & Oates' "She's Gone." Irony.

Next Week: The Lindy Hop and the Argentine Tango. Along with two new dances, two couples will be eliminated. It'd be nice to get rid of some of the weaker competitors.

What was the point of the dance off, if the judges gave Denise higher scores than Holly, but Denise was voted off b/c of less fan votes. Seems like a waste of time.
Although Denise really was stiff & Maks seemed very bored this season (or maybe b/c he's now engaged!)
My pics for the final 3 are also Melissa, Shawn & Gilles (they should have put Edyta with Gilles, probably too sexy a couple, &Cheryl's not one of my favorite's to win a 3rd time).
So much trashing about Melissa, the only 2 shows I watch on TV are The Bachelor & DWTS. As far as her previous experience, are we forgeting the "past dancers"
such as Lance, Mel from the Spice Girls, Sabrina from the Cheetah Girls, Mario (rap dancer), Kristy figure skater, so on & so forth....the point is, some are surely more coordinated & some are not...I'm rooting for Melissa & Tony (for once he's got a shot of winning).
Good Luck Melissa & Tony!

If your family is like ours and needs extra money due to job loss or other hard times look at this internet opportunity. I am still looking for full time work but by visiting this website I am able to make extra money for groceries or costco :-) I'm not getting "rich quick" (like many claim) but it helps bring in more money for the family while I am out of work. I can do it from home while watching my kids. Try it, it will be worth Your time.

I also think they saw how many votes Woz was getting, which is why they gave him such low scores, to try and offset that.

I voted Woz and I'm a PC. And I will continue voting Woz as long as Bruno stops being such a jerk to him. I'm not a Mac, but I am a geek.

I was sad to see Denise go. She showed real potential for a few instants here an there and she might have pulled it together.

Woz? Are techies deploying their friends' devices in a consorted way to bolster audience votes? I don't get it.

Woz also has the support of the VoteForTheWorst website. They're not doing an official push, like they do for Idol, but he is the one they are asking everyone to vote for ...

He may be a not-great dancer, but he loves doing it, and his enthusiasm is infectious ... so I dont mind another week of Woz.

But why is DWTS culling the herd more quickly, getting rid of two next week? Can't be because ABC has so much OTHER quality programming it wants to give air time to... they don't.

Just means that many more votes for Ty I'll have to cast ... he's definitely not a pro ... definitely has no training before DWTS ... is the one honest one when he screws up ... has a boyish charm ... and is definitely the most improved from week one til now. Go Ty go!

They probably want to get rid of the Woz and they think that a double elimination will be enough to get rid of him. Unfortunately, we'll have to see if Holly, Steve-O, or Ty will mess up first.

they usually remove two in the first week so that they will have three remaining in the final but with the addition of the dance off -- that made the elimination of 2 impossible.

Boy does Woz have Mac fans if they pulled him out after he got a 10 total. However Woz actually invented the Apple II.

I still don't understand why they are scoring Melissa so high. She does have dancing experience which is not fair to the other competitors. Yes it is in Cheerleading and other areas without a partner, but the moves are easier for her because of the experience eventhough she says they are not.

I would hate to see someone who is inexperienced work so hard in this competition to get to the top and then lose to Melissa who has all this experience. She is a ringer and it is just not fair. But leave it to the producers to come up with both a ringer and a sob story in one person.
