What will TV do without Hannah Montana?

Miley Cyrus as If you ask me, it's a little early to throw in the towel completely on television at sixteen years old, Miley. Look how well that worked out for David Caruso when he told NYPD Blue to kiss his ass so he could be the next big Hollywood movie star? Granted, Miley Cyrus' level of celebrity is on a completely different plane than Lt. Horatio Caine; I don't recall Caruso on the cover of Tiger Beat every week back in the day.

Nevertheless, Miley Cyrus indicated that she would be done with television after Hannah Montana wraps its run on the Disney Channel. She's already said she doesn't want to do Hannah Montana in film any more either. So it looks like Cyrus will be looking to follow the path that Lizzy McGuire AKA Hilary Duff did when she walked away from the Mouse.

Considering everything she has her hands in, Cyrus should be in a good position to transition through those teenage years into young adulthood. She's kept her image fairly squeaky-clean, Asian eyes and naughty cell phone pics notwithstanding, and her tweener following is huge.

So if Miley can survive without Disney and television, what will Disney and television do without her? Is The Suite LIfe poised to be their next big thing? That would put Brenda Song (London Tipton) in the Disney heiress role but she's already twenty-one years old! That's practically ancient by Disney standards. So maybe the weight will fall on another young actress' shoulders; perhaps 16-year old Demi Lovato on the new Sonny With a Chance. Or Wizards of Waverly Place? Or the Jonas Brothers, who have a new show starting this year as well (J.O.N.A.S.).

Only the Jonas Brothers have come close to rivaling Hannah Montana's success as a marketing bonanza, and she's still got them beat by millions and millions of dollars I'm sure. I thing the solution might be for Disney to just renew Hannah Montana again and again until something else blows up like that.

What do you think? Geriatric Billy Ray still managing a forty-something year old Hannah Montana. Of course since this is Disney, she'll also be married to Prince Charming and have a wonderful relationship sleeping in separate beds with adopted children. Then their daughter, Joanna Montana can continue the franchise while Miley Cyrus finally leaves to star in the next CSI spin-off: CSI: Undercover. She's already got the wig.

Why all the hate towards Miley? Hannah Montana is a cute CHILDREN'S SHOW. Sheesh!

My daughter, who is 6, and who is currently obbessed with Hannah loves the show... and I have to say it was a nice leap from the days of Dora.

Who knows who will take over as the new Disney Diva... but I just hope that it is someone as "squeaky clean" (The VF scandle not with standing) as Miley. Who says that someone in the spotlight can't be wholesome? And why is that such a bad thing? I am sure at this point Disney wants to forget that Britney was ever a musketeer.

The Hannah Montana juggernaught will continue for a while after Miley quits. Disney will squeeze every drop out of it that it can.

And good for Miley. Seriously. If she wants to quit, and "be a regular girl" then more power to her. Some how I doubt that we will ever see her as a recovering drug addict on a "Where are they now?" special.

Miley seems to be falling into a trap that has nailed a lot of young "Divas" and that is thinking her popularity will never die and that her millions of fans will stay with her forever. The fact that fame is very fleeting and fans will turn on her on a dime is something Miley has not comprehension of. Her losses at the Teen Choice Awards are evidence that Miley is already over. Will she make it as an actress? Not when she has real actresses like Annasophia Robb and Dakota Fanning to compete against. And a sustained music career? Call the New Kids on the Block to find out how long you last when you were a flash in the pan teen sensation.

Forget Hannah Montana. Something else caught my attention...

They still have Tiger Beat?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I think the last time I read it, I think Shawn Cassidy was on the cover.)

Okay, now everyone can return to the Hannah Montana saga.

Who can blame her. If Cyrus wants a career outside of Hannah Montana, whatever that career might be, she'll need to break free of the kid star mold. It can only last so long after a certain age it just starts becoming pathetic. The same holds true for the Jonas brothers. As they get older the younger kids aren't going to be interested and the kids that grew up with them will start wanting something edgier than "SOS" and "Love Bug." Hell, sooner or later the Jonas Brothers will go tired of their squeaky clean image and want something different, as well. It's inevitable.

I cant stand Miley Cyrus.. I think I'm the only one.. lol @ Brenda Song as the new Disney Diva... not going to happen.. The torch will be passed to Demi Lavato and her BFF Selena Gomez.. their celeb is no where near Miley's but they are still pretty popular.. Disney isn't in any danger.. they always have the next great thing in the pipeline.. Hilary then Raven then came Miley.. now these girls.. there is an 8 year old somewhere already being groomed to be Disney's new live action princess

Miley even had beef with Demi and Selena.. gotta love that.. right?

I really shouldn't know this much about this stuff..
