Amy Poehler'Parks & Recreation'
(8:30PM, NBC) series premiere
Fans of 'The Office' will recognize the comic sensibilities of this Amy Poehler mockumentary (co-created by U.S. 'Office' producer Greg Daniels).

Poehler stars as Leslie Knope, the Deputy Director of the Parks and Recreation Department in fictional Pawnee, Indiana. The overeager government employee has big plans: She hopes her project to turn an abandoned lot into a town park will eventually lead her to the White House, as the first female President.

Standing in her way: Her crabby boss (Nick Offerman), a public official who hates the public; her equally ambitious assistant (Aziz Ansari); and her office crush, who has a crush of his own ... on a local nurse (Rashida Jones).

'Southland'
(10PM, NBC) series premiere
Well, Benjamin McKenzie, you're not in the O.C. anymore. Now you're part of the talented cast – alongside Regina King, Tom Everett Scott and Shawn Hatosy – who play Los Angeles cops in this gritty, gripping drama from 'ER' producer John Wells.

'Harper's Island'
(10PM, CBS) series premiere
A young couple plans on getting married – assuming they and their wedding guests survive a serial killer who starts picking them on the titular island. Bonus for viewers of the drama: Guess who'll get bumped off first for a shot at winning $1,000. And they say crime doesn't pay ...

'The Office'
(8 and 9PM, NBC)
Two new episodes in one night? Uh huh, which gives brave Pam double the time to psych Michael into actually getting the Michael Scott Paper Company off the ground. And she's going to need every minute.

'American Chopper'
(9PM, TLC) 6th season premiere
Pauls Jr. and Sr. have had five seasons worth of grumbling at each other, but that's nothing compared to tonight's blow-up between the two.

'Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire'

(10PM, Comedy Central) series premiere
In this giggle-inducing fantasy series spoof, reluctant hero Krod and his "hopelessly inept band of freedom fighters" (including half-man/half-pig Loquasto) set about to thwart the evildoing Chancellor Dongalor, if only they can get past their wench troubles.

'30 Rock'
(9:30PM, NBC)
While the rest of the 'TGS' crew frets about layoffs, Jenna and Tracy obsess over their suspicion that Mr. Parcell – the TV-lovin' Kenneth the Page to you – is hiding a deep, dark secret.

'40 Naughtiest Celebrity Scandals'

(9PM, VH1)
Hugh Grant and his hooker, President Clinton and his intern and Paris Hilton and her DIY porn tape ... they're all in there.
