What to Watch Weekend April 18-19

by Kim Potts, posted Apr 18th 2009 5:00AM
Sit Down Shut Up'Sit Down, Shut Up'
(Sun., 8:30PM, Fox) series premiere
It's not the return of 'Arrested Development,' but there are plenty of familiar voices in this new 'toon from 'Arrested' creator Mitch Hurwitz.

The show revolves around the wacky faculty members of Knob Haven High, a northeast high school with money issues, ornery students and teachers with plenty of angst of their own.

Among them: Will Arnett as bodybuilder/English teacher Ennis Hofftard, Jason Bateman as gym teacher Larry Littlejunk, Kenan Thompson as Principal Sue Sezno (who always "says no"), Will Forte as Vice Principal Proszakian, who uses the drugs he confiscates from students' lockers, and Henry Winkler as suicidal German teacher Mr. Deutschebog.

'Grey Gardens'
(Sat., 8PM, HBO)
Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore star in this fact-based tale of Jackie O. relatives Big and Little Edie Bouvier Beale, a mother and daughter who were once the toast of New York society, but ended up living in far less grand style in Long Island.

'Law & Order: Criminal Intent'
(Sun., 9PM, USA) 8th season premiere
Yes, another cast change. Jeff Goldblum is the latest 'L&O'-er, replacing Chris Noth's Det. Mike Logan.

'In Plain Sight'
(Sun., 10PM, USA) 2nd season premiere
Though she's dealing with a case of post-traumatic stress disorder, Mary goes back to work when a witness is killed.

'Rock of Love Bus Reunion Special'

(Sun., 9PM, VH1)
Are Taya and Bret still together? How many of the women did he hook up with during the 'Bus' tour? And was season three really the last one he'll do? Hopefully we'll get answers to these questions and more in this reunion of the Poison frontman and his 'Rock of Love' ladies.

'Desperate Housewives'
(Sun., 9PM, ABC)
Yep, Edie's dead. For reals. And to honor her memory, her Wisteria Lane frenemies dredge up a few of her most memorable moments.

'Miss USA Pageant'
(Sun., 7PM, NBC)
Billy Bush and 'My Name Is Earl's' Catalina – random, no? – co-host the 58th annual pageant, from Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

'Knights of Bloodsteel'
(Sun., 9PM, Sci FI) miniseries premiere
Knights and sorcerers and dragons, oh my! Add in the thrice-monikered David James Elliott and 'Back to the Future' time traveler Christopher Lloyd, and you've got yourselves a movie worthy of four hours of primetime real estate (it concludes Monday night at 9PM).

'Natalee Holloway'
(Sun., 8PM, Lifetime Movie Network)
Tracy Pollan plays Beth Twitty, the mom who's spent four heartbreaking years trying to find out the truth about what happened to her missing daughter, teen Natalee Holloway.

Also on this weekend:
- 'Kings' (Sat., 8PM, NBC)
- 'The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler' (Sun., 9PM, CBS)
