First who is Perez to be judging anything? He is about as much of a professional anything as a wet rag. He is a non celeb who got started "stalking" his drag love...Paris Hilton. The Miss America organization used to be well respected. Until being Politically Correct this organization was an annual event that was watched by millions as a family to see what young talented intelligent woman would win her scholarship and represent a worthy cause. Most of the winners went on to be in the public eye for many years. Most winners have been very successful. There were never "losers". The judges were successful previous winners, business people and some celebrity types. Now we have "Parez" who has no respect for himself let alone for the organization that hired him. I was appalled at his disrespect for this young woman's response to an inappropriate question. What happened to the questions regarding childrens education in this country or feeding the hungry or a question that challenged the young lady's "platform"? No wonder this organization is about doomed. Parez may have finished off the public's interest. The P C thing to do would have been to accept everyone's inalienable right to their own opinion. This is what freedom is about. Parez needs to have his bubble popped. He owes all of those watching especially the little girls whose dream may be or have been to be on that stage. What kind of example did he set by his actions or his inappropriate question for these young girls. He is not an icon. He contributes nothing but gossip. Pathetic is the population that relies on his "news" to be the "truth" or serious reporting. By the way, this woman spoke her opinion. One that is felt by many, most of America. She did not degrade the gay community. At this time it would be dangerous for a gay couple to join in anything resembling marriage until ALL aspects of "coverages" are consistent in writing including insurance, divorce, adoption, visitation, financial support and you may think that this is no different than the "NORMAL" marriage. IT IS. It has yet to be determined, even in normal marriages what happens with ex-debt with say the IRS? What happens with family members coming out of the blue at the time of eminent death and what can happen when decisions need to be made by "next of kin". Marriage is a partnership in a business that hopefully will last for a very long time. Parez is single I presume, and does not have an extended education. I am disappointed in the choice to have someone such as him or the other judges criticize this woman for her beliefs. I also think that too many people think to little about to little for too little of time about major issues and then try to argue a point they know not how to make or understand what it means to think outside of their own opinion seeking facts.
How many of us think that the internet may not have been the smartest thing invented? Web cam? Immediate gratification and greed. "MY WAY" is the new ponder and think before you speak.

I think that Miss California has a ton of courage for standing up for what she believes in. Yes, Miss USA is supposed to represent everyone, but she is also supposed to be a role model for younger kids, and to be someone they look up to, and I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want my kid looking up to someone that doesn't have a strong enough back bone to stand up for what THEY feel is right. This is America, and whether your conservative or liberal, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and therefore if you are going to get mad at Miss California for saying her opinion then you have no room to voice your opinion, so before you jump all over her case for stating her opinion, make sure you aren't be hypocritical. America has become a country full of conservatives AND liberals who are hypocrites,so I think that we should all respect EVERYONES beliefs, morals, and opinions. Whether you agree with her or not, its not your place to criticize her opinion, its hers and you should be thankful that you live in a country where you are free not to have to share her opinion, and as for Perez Hilton, he shouldn't have asked a question if he only wanted to hear one answer.

Who would you want as a role model for your children, Miss California or Perez Hilton? I want to commend Miss California for not being afraid to verbalize her opinion on family values and morals. Something, the movie stars, politicians... anyone in the public eye is shamed to not speak out on their beliefs.

What happen to freedom of speech? Something the gay community and the media continually lobby for? Yes, and what happen to freedom of religion? Which after the show we heard numerous people, for gay and lesbian marriages, condeming people for their religious beliefs. Don't we have the right in this country to follow, live, and speak of our religious values which relate to this topic?

For a harmonious "America" yes we need to be diverse in our thoughts, respect and tolerance of others in their preferences but haven't we earned the rights in this country to express our values and moral as they relate to the family??

"Shame" actually needs to go to the people who plan and implement the pagent for choosing someone of such terrible character to judge such an honorable program. What were they thinking? Like he has the qualifications to judge such a thing. To even have someone as a judge saying the words "Bitch" , referring to someone, anyone as that, and other language he uses. Definitely no class and no place for a person like that representing such a historical, honorable program!!

Miss California, hats off to you. I have a great admiration for you and hope my daughter can come close to what you represent. What you did on that stage is what this country is all about. You are a wonderful role model, something this country continues to lack lately.

I always consider the source. Perez Hilton is a fat dirty looking slob who is a blacksheep even in his own gay community for outing people who do not wish to share their personal preferences. He is a failed actor who steals other peoples celebrity for his own benefit, including copyright infringing. His reports are completely unreliable (Castro) and I can't believe he was even asked to Judge. Carrie is absolutely beautiful and sharp to even have a solid opinion on the subject. It's better than a hypocritical opinion. There should be a challenge to this vote!

I think that was a glitch because I only posted that once. I also think that's happening with some others in this post.

Please......why is Perez Hilton's opinion so important? He's a celebrity hanger-on. What a blowhard!
Thank God Miss California stood her ground---she'll be remembered more for that than winning a crown in a beauty pageant.

Why draw the line at one man/woman marrying one woman/man? Thats so wrong and unnatural. I can handle more than one mate, can't you?

if he did not like her answer he should have never asked the question, she should have won the contest and i applaud her for being honest. everyone has a right to their opinion she should not have been counted out for what she said.most people in this country will agree with her i do too,the stuffy little man who cant take the truth should stuff it up his ass and walk away quietly like the jackass he is.

I would be willing to bet that all the guys that are responding to this that disagreed with her answer "are gay"....It was "her" opinion and "her"belief"...just like you are entitled to "yours".

TVSquad, you need some kind of block against the same people simply posting the same message under different usernames. I was chalking it up to similar mindsets, but using the same paragraph time and time again is not in the spirit of a message board or comment section.
