ABC might still want Old Christine

The New Adventures of Old Christine isn't even finished at CBS yet, and ABC is sniffing around already.According to Michael Ausiello over at Entertainment Weekly, ABC is interested in picking up the Julia Louis-Dreyfus sitcom if CBS decides to cancel it. If you read our post about which shows are going to be renewed, which are going to be canceled, and which are on the bubble, Old Christine is in the latter category.
It seems to be a show that doesn't get gangbuster ratings, but it's one that CBS seems to like having around. The show currently airs on Wednesday nights, bumped from its former Monday night berth by Rules of Engagement and Worst Week. ABC probably wants to make their sitcoms stronger, since Scrubs is probably ending this season. Their Surviving Suburbia is doing well, and maybe they want a companion show.
This is the second time that ABC has shown interest in Old Christine. They wanted it last year, too, but CBS ended up renewing the show after all.
