Survivor: It's Funny When People Cry

Taj looks surprised on Survivor: Tocantins

(S18E10) As tonight's episode of Survivor started, I prayed to the gods that it wouldn't be Coach-centric. Alas, there was plenty of Coach spouting his wisdom, his Warrior Alliance theories, and his general Coach-isms. After all, he is the Dragon Slayer, y'know. I so wish this Little Lord Fauntleroy Willie Nelson oddly-attired man would vanish from my television set. Maybe tonight?

Everybody hates Sierra
And I'm not so sure why they do. Tyson has had a chip on his shoulder about her for the entire game so far. Coach's latest reason to dismiss her is because she betrayed him. Debbie is sticking with Coach and Tyson, even though she has to realize she can't be a part of the alpha male Warrior Alliance without drastic surgery. Erinn is more of a wild card. She was Coach's first target and she's not likely to forget that. Then again, it's not her neck on the chopping block. She has no loyalty to the Timbira folks at all.

Ex-Jalapao folks don't hate Sierra, per se. But they're happy that anyone else is a target rather than their own diminished tribe members. I'm really not getting some of the cruelty to Sierra from the Timbira people. I mean, it's kind of like kicking Drew Barrymore or something. She's not a shining star to the tribe, but we've all seen worse.

What? A new puzzle?
If Survivor is on, I'm going to watch it. However, that doesn't mean that I can't whine now and then about the challenge they're facing and how they're trying to keep the challenges fresh and new. I thought I was puzzled out, but tonight's reward challenge had a new concept. It's way too puzzling to describe here. But if they keep doing puzzles, new approaches like tonight's reward are welcomed.

The immunity challenge was a bit of a throwback -- Survivor shuffleboard. The elements added a nice touch. Once again, Jeff told the castaways that they could feast if they felt safe from being voted out. Who ate? That smug Coach, JT, and Stephen. Poor Stephen looks like he's starving and most seem to think of him as some sort of non-entity. Coach just about freaked when it looked like his target Sierra might win immunity. Thankfully, Tyson didn't win it again; it was a Debbie win.

Erinn, Taj, and Stephen and bye-bye mean boy
Then things got rich. Erinn doesn't mind if Sierra gets voted out, but knows she'd be the next target of the Testosterone Boys. So, she gets with Taj and Stephen ... and voila! Tyson doesn't have immunity, they can blindside him. What I was very surprised about was that JT went along with the plan even after he shook hands with Coach on voting out Sierra.

The blindside of Tyson is one for the books. Words cannot describe my joy when it went down. Sure, Coach is an annoying person and I could rant about him for days. But Tyson is outright mean. Perhaps he's funny with his silly dances and naked butt around camp, but that doesn't make up for his cruelness to Sierra. I'm not a huge Sierra fan, either. I don't like bullies. Tyson is a bully. Plus, he's good at challenges. It was the best move in the game so far. And ... I got to see Coach's reaction. I'm still smirking.

Who do you want for the win now?
Erinn26 (3.1%)
Stephen120 (14.5%)
Taj135 (16.3%)
Coach27 (3.3%)
Sierra134 (16.1%)
Debbie20 (2.4%)
JT368 (44.3%)

I also don't understand the Sierra hate. Tyson I sort of can, because he's a jerk and was probably always going to find people to bully and hate even if Brendan and Sierra weren't in the picture, but when Stephen and JT were discussing how much they hate her and how she's a liar-I just don't get it! I especially don't get where she became a liar-fair enough if you don't want to allign with her but why the need to drag her through the mud so much, especially when she and Brendan were loyal to Stephen and JT last week and THEY lied and backstabbed them?? it's really bizarre to me...

Shocked by JT's shake with coach -- have you not been watching the show -- he has been nothing but two faced for several episodes now -- first, he was thinking of getting rid of Taj, the one who had the idol, then last week's episode, he made a pact with brendan to get rid of coach -- which i still to this don't understand why they didn't do that since taj had set up the alliance with brendan that was supposed to go down in history and thought they would just be sitting ducks after they followed coach's plan. Come to this week's episode and I'm glad that this turn of events happened.

It is JT who you can't believe a word he says and I think he is the one to beat this year. How he got control of the game without even having one of the two idols just further cements that I think JT will win survivor.

If this offends anyone, sorry, but it's my perspective...

Why is it that Mormons who stray from their church almost invariably turn out like this guy? They're usually mean, obnoxious, egotistical, nacissicists who get a kick out of actively acting outsite their church's box...

Here's a clue, it doesn't make you look cool or less of a kook than your fellow mormons who hold true to their faith... (and these are people that think Joseph Smith found gold tablets in the hills of New York chronicling the American adventures of Jesus after his death in first century Palestine) it just makes you look like an attention seeking idiot who wants to shock the status quo....... except you don't... because just like any other group of non-conformists, former Mormons all conform to the same non-conformity: egotistical, mean, assholes.

That's just my take on that pathetic slab of flesh.

Great ep. I hated to hear Sierra whine and make excuses about voting for Coach at the last TC. Give it up girl. That was like nails on a chalkboard. Coach is hilarious. As much as I'd like to see him gone, he'd be missed if he left too early in the game. Loved Jeff calling Coach out on his b.s. Great. Ole Tyson, "I'm not worried". LOL Now that's how the game is played. One is not there to make friends. It's a million dollars. You won't have to see this people again. Vote them out! Voting out Tyson was a smart move. JT's number is up too. Notice at the reward challenge, Errin just followed him while he lead. lol Stephen chowing down pizza looked like someone who hadn't aten in 20 days. Oh that's right he hadn't. Why did JT eat again? He won the reward and then still had pizza. lol Greedy.

YES! YES! YES! We were HOWLING when this vote happened last night, and that smug arrogant ugly jerk got his cocky *ss handed to him on a bamboo platter. Fantastique. Coach next, PLEASE. Then I'll be able to watch the rest of the show without cringing. Can't stand Coach. I thought it was so awesome when Jeff was giving him the business during tribal, and holding Coach accountable for his ridiculous circular logic. Coach is nothing if not entertaining, but he's really far far too impressed with himself to be taken seriously. And, one last thing - I don't know if the "Dragon Slayer" has never seen Survivor before, but if he's believing and trusting his fellow survivors implicitly to do and say what they "promise" to him (as he seems to be) then he's an idiot. Wait for a long-winded sermon about "loyalty" and "betrayal" next week from him. Yawn. "Next!"
