Better Off Ted responds to President Obama

by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 30th 2009 2:42PM
On the basis of this video alone, ABC should renew Better Off Ted.

President Obama's prime time press conference interrupted a new episode of the show last night, and now the show (actually, the company on the show, Veridian Dynamics) responds to the President and explains why he shouldn't have interrupted the episode.

Excellent, yet another reason for me to root for this show to get renewed. I was just talking about this show at work again today when a coworker was asking if they really are taking jabs at our employer (GE). I'll have to get him to watch this video now.

What would have been even funnier is if they would have overlaid graphics of characters from the show during the middle of the press conference to promo the show. While I usually despise that, especially on networks like Sci-Fi that get extremely annoying with them, I think it would have been fitting payback for the repeated interruptions of regular programming. I wonder how much lost ad revenue Obama has cost the networks so far with all these press conferences.

There's a gazillion news channels along with PBS for those that don't have cable (not to mention the radio).

If people want to listen to presidential addresses, they have plenty of choices.

Not to mention people (like me) can read the transcripts after the address is done.

I don't need politicians forcibly interrupting my down time.

Obviously, if there is another 9/11 or some other imminent crisis, most people would want to tune in, but this is ridiculous.

*AHEM* GE.

Hilarious. I don't know why I liked this show, but I'm starting to get into it.

Awesome...Better Off Ted is a hilarious Show, and I hope Obama didn't hurt its chances of being renewed by having it pre-empted for his press conference.
