5 Questions With: Isaac Mizrahi
Now that 'Project Runway' has officially found a new home over at Lifetime, there's plenty of space for something fabulous and stylish on the network that originated reality competition shows. Enter 'The Fashion Show,' Bravo's new showcase for up-and-coming fashion designers to get their big break (premieres Thursday, May 7 at 10PM ET). Designer and personality extraordinaire Isaac Mizrahi takes the helm, with co-hosts Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child fame and Fern Mallis, who started Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, rounding things out.
So how will the show set itself apart? Is it gonna be better than 'Runway'? And will Mr. Mizrahi be wearing any undergarments (as he so famously asked celebs at the Golden Globes in 2006)? AOL TV got Mizrahi to dish and you don't want to miss what he told us ... and showed us. -- By Maggie Furlong

1. How is this different than 'Project Runway'?
You know, I'm not really that up on 'Project Runway' -- I've seen it three or four times. I think it's a great show, [but] this is structured differently. We have the mini-challenge in the beginning of the show and then the elimination challenge at the end of the show in front of a live audience. It's pretty awesome. It's completely different personalities -- it's Isaac! [Laughs] Well, it's Kelly, it's Isaac, it's Fern and a weekly special judge. The energy of the audience at the end -- that brings a lot of excitement to the event -- but also it's the comments from the audience. They're really riveting ... and sometimes brutal. The drama just gets heightened. Also, the winning clothes are available for purchase online on BravoTV.com.

2. So do you want to start a war right now and say that 'The Fashion Show' is better than 'Runway'?
No, absolutely not! [Laughs] But I will say this: Bravo started 'Project Runway' -- they made it. That's why I love working with them on this, because to me they do a great job. They do it the best. You know, usually I insist on being like a producer of any show I'm in, but I trust that Bravo's gonna make a great show.
3. Can you give us any hints about who we might see as guest judges?
I can name names -- I can tell you! We had Norma Kamali, who's kind of the grande dame of all fabulous invention. We had Peter Som, Elie Tahari ... we had a great show with Tinsley Mortimer, who's this fabulous New York socialite, and they had to make clothes for Tinsley. It was really good. We had Glenda Bailey, who's the editor-in-chief of Harper's Bazaar. Oh, and the best one! We had George Malkemus -- he's a fellow who runs Manolo Blahnik. It was really good, that episode ... I'll just tell you that.
4. Sounds like there's gonna be some drama with you two ...We had some really interesting banter, George and I. [Laughs] Maybe just a little bit of drama. There's a bit of a past between George and I [laughs] ... but I love him. It was great.
5. Will we ever see you back as an awards show red carpet host? You got a lot of press last time you did it, grabbing boobs, checking underwear ...
I did -- that's right! I don't know -- I have to say, it's a thankless job. It's fun [but] I have to have a lot of free time to do the red carpet, and these years I haven't had much free time, as you can imagine. And I was not [grabbing boobs] -- I was checking underwear. I am wearing underwear ... I'm wearing Spanx. [Watch the exclusive video clip above for Isaac Mizrahi's revealing -- and hilarious -- Spanx demonstration.]

Cast: Chevy Chase, Joel McHale
Premise: Funnyman McHale ('The Soup') stars as a lawyer who enrolls at a community college after his degree is ruled invalid. Also on board is Chase, playing a fellow student who has been married five times. Given NBC's success with comedies, this could be a nice edition to the community.
