New Smallville season finale clip blames Chloe for everything

by Mike Moody, posted May 11th 2009 3:02PM
I'm not even gonna try to guess who will die in Thursday's season finale of Smallville. If the show wants to line up with Superman lore, then Clark will definitely bite it and be resurrected next season. If not, then almost anyone could be dead by episode's end (except Lois, Erica Durance has already signed on for season nine).

Of course, I wouldn't mind seeing Chloe go. I don't hate the character, but it seems like she's caused nothing but problems for Clark this season. It looks like the latest preview clip for this week's season ender, "Doomsday" agrees with me.

"And now because of Chloe, you cannot defeat him." Oh, that's hilarious. I love how Cosmic Boy blames the rise of Doomsday and the future death of Clark all on poor little Chloe. His list of Chloe's mistakes seems to go on and on and it basically ends with, "Everything's gonna go to hell because Chloe, you know, exists!"

Of course, this probably means Chloe will not die in the finale. It's more likely that somebody like Tess Mercer, The Dark Arrow or another Justice Leaguer will meet his or her end. Check out this spoiler page for more clues.

clark has to save again even if it means bringing his co-heroes together, and for clark and lana they have to reunion again because she is the source of desire since there childhood so they have to make it to the last.do u know why?because it looks more romantic and feel so real with lana

Of course blaming Chloe is much easier than admitting that they, the Legion, messed up in the first place when they let the pursuader come back in time and destroy the original crystal that would have ended Chloe's Brainiac connection to Doomsday. Or maybe the Legion could have come back 5 months ago and mentioned to Clark not to have anyone douse Davis in Kryptonite or even better, have them instruct Clark to hide his crystal so Tess can't destroy it. It's beyond silly to hold Chloe accountable for everyone's actions and I have a feeling the show will support that. (Kind of like how everyone was ripping on her stopping Clark from putting Davis in the PZ and the very next episode Clark tells her she was right)

Oh, I just remembered that the Legion didn't know of Chloe when they came back the first time, now they have heard of her.

I've followed the show from the beginning but I think I'm the only one who has never been a Chloe fan. She annoys me so I wouldn't be broken up about it if she dies.

This show's already jumped a billion sharks over the years, but killing Chloe off would be like jumping Jaws with a jet-ski. The way this show has evolved over the years, they could have called it "How Chloe Sullivan (and to a lesser extent Lex and Lionel Luthor) turned Clark Kent into Superman."

I say, let Clark "die", then Chloe (realizing she can't "save" Clark or Davis) can send Davis to the Phantom Zone and after the summer break, the writers will pull yet another half-assed excuse for Clark to miraculously be saved from final death out of their Manatee tank.

Or kill the show...I really don't care anymore.

I have to wonder if one character who dies is one we haven't seen in awhile...Clark's mom. Ausiello has said one of the death's is a Smallville "vet," and she would certainly qualify.

Maybe I'm just throwing out wild guesses. I'd like to see Chloe back, pre-Davis.
