Eminem bringing laid-off autoworkers to Jimmy Kimmel Live

Eminiem - RelapseWant to make sure you have a huge and supportive audience response when you appear on one of those fancy late-night talk shows? Sure you do! Especially if you're plugging your big comeback album. But that's not why Eminem is flying 200 people from his hometown of Detroit to Jimmy Kimmel Live this Friday.

It's because they're laid off and not getting any of that government bailout money. Instead they get to fight for food stamps and minimum wage jobs with high school kids to try and pay their bills.

So Eminem wants to raise awareness of this problem (and his album Relapse) by bringing these folks -- his hometown fans -- to his taping of Jimmy Kimmel where he'll probably talk about it (and his album Relapse) and even perform a song from his album Relapse for those laid-off workers so they can have a good time.

Don't get me wrong, this is a nice thing he's doing as times are incredibly tough, and a break from the every day crises they're surely facing can only help. Plus, he's coming back to the show on May 19 and 22, probably without the laid-off workers so he can focus more on talking about his album Relapse.

Talk show guests are going to plug their current projects anyway, so I don't know why all the attitude about it. That's basically what talk shows are for.
