One Tree Hill: Remember Me As A Time Of Day (season finale) - open thread

One Tree Hill

It always interests me when a show goes on for years and years even though not many people talk about it. One Tree Hill is a show like that. You always here about CW shows like Gossip Girl, Smallville, and Supernatural, but One Tree Hill is a show that has its rabid fan base too, proving that its not just buzz that's important.

But can the show survive without Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton (who are leaving the show), or are we probably looking at the last season next year anyway?

The finale was pretty good, but i think that it lacked a little "umph" to it. I find that with Peyton and Lucas leaving the show, it makes this past season almost completely pointless. 2/3 of each show this season was focused on the peyton pregnancy and what could've been her death, and now that they're gone, it all seems worthless. If they really are bringing in 2 new characters next season, then they have to get rid of the Mia/Chase relationship because they take up time on the show.

Agreed. Chase and Mia must disappear, mainly because there's no conflict. But I've heard Kate Voegele is going on tour again, which means that she'll be leaving for at least a while.

By the way, why would she sign the PLASTIC CASE of her CD. Every CD signer knows to sign the paper insert.

You "hear" about other CW shows. Sorry, I had to.

OTH without P Sawyer isn't worth watching but I'll watch anyway. I love P. Sawyer :(

I see this last episode as Peyton's dream of how life perfected would be. It could have been used as a nice tie up if the series was cancelled, or door wide open for new season. Peyton can pass away when/if contract not renewed.(Remember the sheet was pulled over her at begining of episode.) It can all be declared a dream and pick up where they left off.

That's actually a really neat idea. I doubt they'll do it, but I guess it's a possibility. Personally, I found it nerveracking that Nathan was drinking again in the first scene, and then suddenly things were better. If they took this route, that would be awesome and a great twist, but wouldn't they have teased about it at the end of the episode?

I wonder if they made this as a series finale b/c they weren't sure if they were being picked up. Either way, I think the show could have easily ended this season. I really wonder what next season will look like--but I'm curious, too. I just hope it doesn't kill the show.

I think that everyone in the season finale ended up getting what they most wanted could have been a distraction to Lucas and Peyton leaving the show, which could show that the series can still continue being successful without them. But that doesn't mean they won't be missed terribly.

with how last night ended i was thinking it was the series finale. it just felt that way with everyones various stories tying up nicely. would have been an excellent one.

-peyton & luke have their baby & peyton lives
-mouth & milly finally move back in together
-nathan makes it to the nba
-brooke finds love in julian

last night needed more skillz tho. he's always hilarious. & they had whitey back!

This season should have been the last. The season finale could also function as a series finale. In the fifth season, it seemed that the show had evolved, but apparently it didn't, judging from the last episodes of the fifth season and the sixth season.Well, i guess next season will probably be the last
