Criminal Minds: To Hell ... / ... And Back (season finale) - open thread

First off, isn't that a cool way to do titles for a two-part season finale? I'm waiting for the day when some show has a two-parter where the first episode is titled "The" and the other one is titled "End."

This season finale focused on a serial killer who killed prostitutes and the homeless and took them across the border into Canada. The previews with the pigs kinda creeped me out (I guess pigs are the villains in many ways this year). How was this finale? The show has been renewed for another season.

I think it was a good episode - and I really hope they don't kill of Hotchner. But I am a little upset with the content. It is a little early to make a show based on something that happened such a short time ago and effected so many people in that community. It was insensitive to those who lost family such a short time ago. It doesn't make it better that they based it in Ontario somewhere, and not in its true location.

I believe the shooter is him also. Makes sense anyway. I truly hope they do not kill of Hotch, that would be a real loss to the line-up. It was hard enough losing Mandi Panikin.

As for Hotch, "You should've made the deal." comment at the end, if you watch the credits at the beginning C. Thomas Howell is listed as a guest star. Hummmmm????

After the first half hour the show was very predictable. As others mentioned they used the Pickford case as the basis but having to stretch it into a cross border incident so the FBI BAU could be be brought in was way too complicated for the writers to bring together convincingly. Jeeze, we Canadians are smart if even our autistic mentally challenged citizens can do all that "Lucas" was able to do on the story. Oh, except for our police of course since they just stood around doing nothing useful and even ended up killing "Lucas" to the FBI's horror. And finding the car because of the "Underground Railroad", give me a break. Actually given the many sterotypes and inaccuracies in the show to that point I was half expecting them to have the "unsub" be using some long lost tunnel beneath the ST. Clair River. LOL My wife and I have been fans of the show and own the first seasons on DVD. As a one man protest I won't be buying any more. Oh and I agree Prentiss (sp?) is way better than Elle.

Who reads the opening credits? If you do then you are just asking to be spoiled....I just FF thru opening credits.

Erik Wilson...nice catch on the omnivore reference.

I don't think Hotch will die... the worst thing would be to be laid up and not able to stop the guy when he goes on a killing spree.

I noticed in the opening credits that C. Thomas Howell was listed. The masked man had to have been the "stop hunting me and I'll stop hunting them" guy. I have to say, this episode really creeped me out! Probably more so than any other I have seen. The pigs, the injections, the red x on the necks! Crrreepppy!!!

No one probably cares unless you are from the area but this episode they really messed up geographically because the people are being taken from detroit and over to canada well the easiest border crossing would be windsor (which they show on the map, as well as mistake calling sarnia the busiest border crossing in north america when windsor is ) and it would take forever to drive from detroit to port huron atleast 45min - 1 hr an then another probably 25 min to the spot they show on the map in sarnia. Sorry for all of this it just was bothering me that they were so wrong you would think a big show would do thier research and show the right area on a map

This was a lame, unbelievable episode that was dragged on and on to stretch the two hours without explaining how an autistic moron could possibly have conducted experiments, even with his brother's direction. Lucas wasn't smart enough to do much of anything, much less go shopping on burlary missions to get his brother's extensive medical supplies. Even at that, did you notice that the RMCP stood around chewing the fat and nobody actually started looking for the kidnapped girl until the last ten minutes of the show? This show has become boring with the recitations from cast members about the "unsub". But they do have one heckuva computer ace who can cross reference the telephone book, the encyclopedia, your Aunt Mazie's shopping list and DMV records at blazing speed. Give me a break.

I agree, if you think its not good enough, then you have a choice (or two) one would be to not watch it. It is a good show, in fact, it's the best show on tv, compared to CSI Miami which is the biggest joke of them all: csi agents wearing high heals (no gloves or hairnets or any protective clothing and some actually wear WHITE clothing investigating a crime scene and to continue the medical examiner actually appears at the crime scene now that is a joke, in reality only the me employees just pick up the bodies they don't examine the body at the scene ) and they interview the suspects REAL csi investigators ONLY collect evidence.. period!!!

Criminal minds is a show with more reality to its characters then any other on any tv program.

I agree, the finale was stretched and too, I wondered how Lucas could drive and actually do the experiments myself then.. act real infantile with that girl, because it would be logical that all the other victims too would have begged for their lives just like she did.

I say it was Elle in the mask or she is somehow involved, would be an awesome twist, a x-BAU rouge criminal.

really guys? how can you not know who the guy at the end was????? earlier in the season: episode: Omnivore: George Foyatt wore that mask and killed various people. in the episode he offered Hotch a deal that if he ended the investigation, then he would stop killing civilians. Of course Hotch refused and they caught the guy, but at the end he escaped from prison and we havent heard anything of him since. At the end of this episode i flipped as soon as he said you should have made the deal.
