NBC says all Blagojevichs are the same, casts one for I'm a Celebrity

Patti & Rod BlagojevichNow that Saturday Night Live is off the air, what's the fun in former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich doing anything if we can't have it made fun of on "Weekend Update?" The biggest douchebag in the Midwest, and I can say that because I live there, wasn't allowed to join Sanjaya on NBC's summer reality show because of that whole legal matter. So NBC, proving how "FOX-y" they can be, have now signed Mrs. Rod Blagojevich to join I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here this summer.

Now, I support the decision to not allow Rod there because he'd either be taking hits out on fellow celebrities (wait a minute ... Sanjaya will be there) or he'd just disappear altogether. But in an era where getting rejected by a bachelor can make you a "Star" worthy of Dancing, it still boggles my mind that being married to a jackass is enough. We don't know anything about Patti Blagojevich except for her terrible taste in men. Kristen Wiig hasn't even developed an impression of her and now she's going to be on a major summer reality show?

Heh, that was funny to even write: "major reality show." Haha!!

The best part is that when she was explaining on Today why she agreed to do it she said, "In this terrible economic time, I feel it's necessary to go to work to support my family." Oh, terrible economic times! Those are the catchwords of the year! Now we all have to love her and support her. Maybe Blago can bribe the production staff into letting her win. Ah, NBC, you are the new Fox.

Anyone who takes television so seriously really shouldn't. Maybe that's the problem you should be focusing on.

I live in Chicago and I can tell you one story about her, which I heard from my teacher. I'm a med student and my teacher is a pretty well off MD who owns a house in a neighborhood of Chicago that has now become rather affluent what with all the changes going on in Chicago.

Anyway Mrs. and Mrs. Blagojevich, before he was governor of Illinois, also lived in this neighborhood. One day the Mrs. Blagojevich walked over to my teacher's house and my teacher had been doing some gardening at the time, and she asked him what his house was worth. He didn't like her (he said he got a bad vibe) so he said he was the gardener and didn't know that information. She insisted he tell her and when he wouldn't she said in a nasty tone, "I know you live here, I don't know why you won't tell me what you paid for it!" and he made some smart remark back at her and went inside. She never bothered them again.
