Andy Rooney on the meaning of Memorial Day

by Bob Sassone, posted May 25th 2009 3:01PM
Today is Memorial Day (formerly Decoration Day), and between the burgers, beaches, and the day off from work, there are probably some people who aren't quite sure what the day means. Andy Rooney talked about it last night (actually a repeat from last year) on 60 Minutes. His book My War is a really interesting take on World War II.

I wonder if I'm the only one who gets tired of Andy Rooney's constant commiserating on how bad life is "now a days" and how good it was way back when. Most of the time when his segment comes on at the end of 60 Minutes it's a signal to me that I can go do something til another program comes on. He was past his usefulness a bunch of years ago.
