Could Battlestar's Katee Sackhoff be Marvel's next star?

Katee Sackhoff Starbuck typhoid Mary Comics daredevil MarvelFirst, let me lower your expectations: This is just a rumor started by fanboys at a comic book shop.

OK, for those of you still reading, former Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff was recently spotted buying a ton of comics featuring Daredevil character Typhoid Mary. According to MTV, Sackhoff visited Golden Apple Comics in L.A. last week and picked up the books and stunned the shop's staff with her smokin' hotness. This, of course, led the staff to believe that she might be doing research to play Typhoid Mary in a new Daredevil movie.

As MTV points out, this could've been a Cylon imposter trying to screw with the fanboys. But maybe not. We've been hearing about a Daredevil reboot movie for a while now, and Fox recently announced plans to make a Deadpool movie starring Ryan Reynolds. Typhoid Mary appears in Daredevil and Deadpool books, leading many to believe that Sackhoff might appear as the character in one of those films.

I hope it happens. I'm not familiar with Typhoid Mary – apparently she's a crazy, evil mutant who has multiple personalities and psionic powers – but landing a role in a Marvel movie could mean great things for Sackhoff's career. I'd love to see Starbuck starring in A-list flicks instead of, God forbid, Sci Fi Channel movies.

BSG should have been a break-out role for Sackhoff. Of all the characters on that series Starbuck is the most memorable; in part because the character was originally played by a man, but mostly because of Sackhoff's exceptional performance. Unfortunately, BSG was on a cable network watched by few people and whoever is managing Sackhoff's career failed to really capitalize on the series and get her into memorable parts in other projects.

Given the right movie, I think Sackhoff could be a real star in Hollywood.
