Danny Gokey wants to be the next reality "loser" on Dancing With the Stars

Danny GokeyWhat's great about this is that it's an actual news story all by itself, and I'm not helping matters any by writing about it. The AP has published a story stating that Danny Gokey says he would like to try Dancing With the Stars. That's it. Of course, Paula Abdul has been saying that for years and she had to settle for dancing on Idol. But now that a rejected Bachelor finalist was a worthy competitor, why not a rejected American Idol finalist? Of course, Danny's main focus is his music and a new foundation he's set up in his late wife's name.

But he'd do it if it meant exposure for the foundation, which it would. And more exposure for him and any forthcoming projects he might have coming up as well. I see a real good trend here with reality castoffs sashaying across the dance floor. Who wouldn't want to watch Survivor's Coach doing a fox trot. Or Ron from The Biggest Loser. Of course, he'd want to give the title to his son.

As someone who has danced for many years, it is plain to me that
Danny is a natural mover, his body expresses very well, and he
definitely has charisma when he moves. All of you critics probably
can't dance yourselves, and know nothing about it. Let him do
whatever he wants. He is undeniably talented. Why can't he have
fame? He worked his butt off this year.

All of you critics probably can't dance yourselves, and know nothing about it. Let him do whatever he wants. He is undeniably talented. Why can't he have fame? He worked his butt off this year. AND he is a really nice guy. I met him.

So he can strike a pose during rehearsal for a photo. So what? Once he starts moving he looks like a superspaz.

Look Marvel Entertainment should hire him, slap him in a spare Iron Man suit and have him hit the convention circuit for the next couple of years. Figure it out who he looks like.

Does the third place finisher on Idol actually qualify as a "Star"? Maybe it's time to change the name to Dancing with the Has-Beens.

(Yes, I do understand that some people who placed lower have become "Stars" through efforts unrelated to Idol, but that doesn't apply here.)

I guess you do not turn on your tv, look at the internet or go out, do you? His 15 minutes of fame are not up and just like Adam and Kris, he is doing just fine. What a jerk to begrudge someone their dream. Wow, you need to get a little love in your heart, not hate.
