Prince will probably never be a guest on Letterman's show

I would have posted this earlier today, but I couldn't read Prince's handwriting on the big sheet of paper he gave to Jay Leno last night. I thought it was just a goodbye wish, but now I see from TMZ that it was actually a dig at David Letterman.

It says "Jay is the best. Even Paul Shaffer knows it." Billy Crystal looks amused.

Jay is a douchebag. Even Billy Crystal knows.

Prince is a religious headcase. Great singer/musician but a tool nonetheless.

In Jay's defense...I was watching this and realized that Jay didn't read it before he showed it. As the show was going off air he turned to read it. I don't think if he read it before he would have shown it

Letterman is dull headed and boring along side humorists like Jay Leno.

I'm just surprised he didn't write. "Jay is the best. Even Jesus knows."

Prince is a musical genius and I enjoy his work, but he's probably one of the last people in the world to have a sense of humor about himself. Letterman can't resist teasing his guests - especially ones who are totally full of themselves. Leno only aims humorous remarks towards his guests if encouraged to do so by the guests, otherwise he's the king of kissing up. It's no wonder that Prince would love Leno and fear Letterman. (And it's why I've always liked Letterman's show better.)

Prince is a musical genius, and most geniuses are misunderstood.

Trust me, I have been a fan of his for years and there have been MANY times that he did something that I didn't understand.

But for every failed publicity stunt, there are many more moments of amazing artistry as a musician.

Prince is all class. He's a rock legend but I cant name more than 2 of his songs.

There were more than 2 songs on the entire Purple Rain album. Why are you taking this so personal. Is Dave a long lost uncle or something? But thanks for recognizing he's still a legend no matter how much you dislike him.

When Prince last performed on the Letterman show he did a fake death scene at the end of his performance and had to be carried off the set. Letterman thought it was in bad taste and banned Prince from ever appearing his show again. Prince has never made a public comment so I guess this is finally his response.
