Andy Richter and Conan O'Brien doing a little desk drivingHave you been anxiously awaiting the return of Conan O'Brien and company to late night television? Are you tossing and turning each night because you are lacking your nightly dose of string dancing? Do you find it impossible to get through the day without knowing if Conzie will return to television as the Conzie we all know and love and are thinking of seeking professional help?

Thankfully, I've got the cure. Seek professional help. Make sure he prescribes some strong brain juice for you too, something you have to inject with a syringe.

A recent Ain't It Cool News report says that test shows of Conan's new Tonight Show are underway this week. And the reviews are overwhelmingly positive if you're a big fan of Conan's old Late Night show.

An audience member who saw one of the test shows spilled the beans to the website on how the test show went. He sounds as giddy as a schoolgirl who's Keith Urban poster just came to life.

The assumption that the show will change just because it has moved up an hour earlier are officially put to sleep. He came out on stage, did his string dance and even added a new move to it, and gave his personal assurance the show would not change by "informing us that we were his babies." Sweet! I smell a high priced paternity suit!

It strikes me as odd that he feels the need to keep reassuring his fans and future audience that the new Tonight Show will be just like the old Late Night show with a few minor bumps along the way. He said it on his Late Night show. He said it in subsequent interviews. He even told me so himself. So let me just set the record straight, if it isn't already. Conan's humor, writing and show will be just like the old one. I'm having a notary public timestamp this post for legal reasons.

The report also noted that announcer Andy Richter wasn't sitting on the couch next to Conan like he did in the old days. Now he stands behind a podium. It doesn't say how Andy did as the new announcer and how they used him throughout the show, something that interests me more. I don't watch a late night show and scream at the TV, "No, the couch is on the left! Don't they know anything about fung shui?!?"

Did the post title throw anyone else for a loop? :)

Good news, but not at all surprising.
